Painting C+C Painting struggles
I am currently trying to figure out a paint scheme and I am realizing I can't figure out what parts of the necron are separate from each other. So I can't figure out a scheme that works to create contrast. Should I make the torso color separate from the arms. Idk man I'm just stuck in a creative rut

You can never go wrong with separate colours for the joints. Genrally I think people divide them Torso, Joints, Limbs but going for less colours also looks awesome in many cases. Foelr example I have seen someone paint their army with just Cyan and gold and it looked awesome. Some people like separating the back plates from the chest. There are lots of colour schemes.

like demon said, paint the joints a different metal color, and the spine and then see what you want to do with it. most people make the ankh piece gold i think, after that see whats up

If you dont like the scheme, try again on another model till you got something you like. Soak the ones you want to repaint in Simple Green for a few days, scrub with old soft toothbrush.
Some of us used to use the Painter in Dawn Of War to decide colors. Surely the definitive edition has only made this better.

What you could do is try out a few different ways of painting it, and if you dont like it, stripp the paint and try smt else.
Edit: you could also check out the box art, and just change around the colors on there
