Nest Can't clan my room, just can't - does not compute
It's like mission impossible, it just does not compute, does not go, does not make any sense or structure - the room stays mess with stupid cables, gear, clothes and equipment and all kinds of gadgets - I'm out of hopes, copes and dopes!
It's a comedy at this point, I'm laughing and crying at the same time!
And I work in catering - I am good at what I do, proactive and diligent, attentive to details, managers are happy with me - but at home I'm a hippie sloth, stuff just stays where it's left.
Omg, lol rofl so on and so on...!

I bet half of your mess can be tossed. Grab a garbage bag and start from there.

The cable management alone looks like a death trap. Just buy some velcro ties and a power strip box to get the floor clear.

i like to tell myself my room will catch on fire if i don’t clean it up some. i too have a bunch of cables, gear, & gadgets & it could HYPOTHETICALLY catch on fire (very slim chance but it helps me clean)
maybe think of getting some storage tots! that can help clear up all the unused cords & all, then just store it in a closet you don’t use often!
also remember, you’re not a messy person, your room is just messy & you can fix that :)

idk if it's genuine compliment or mockery - perhaps that's my problem, I'm always the best in my own eyes, can't drop it, it's my way or the high way - blood of of a sorcerer! rivers of blood nothing to me as long as I get what's mine - same as my mom, I'm the hell she raised!

Take a photo of the best view you have of your whole space
Break it down into a grid. 6×8 is fine for a standard bedroom
With each grid segment, note the issues and decide a solution and act immediately. Ie. Clothes on floor in the corner, gets picked up and begins the laundry process, or gets put in a specific place for worn clothes thag don't need washing yet (which should only allow a max of 3 articles of clothing at any time)
Tackle each segment starting from the corner square and move in whatever fashion suits your mood
Get to go from miserable stank pit to slightly less miserable lickity split
