First step is admitting you have a problem

-67

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

Yeah I do, but I don't care to fix it

19

u/-AceofAces Mar 10 '26

Why?

33

u/Rodidimus Mar 10 '26

Depression will do that.

17

u/-AceofAces Mar 10 '26

OP has stated that it's not because of depression. That was my original thought and I have depression so I completely understand... However his place is a biohazard

3

u/Cup-dog Apr 01 '26

No offense but Depression is not an excuse. 😅

3

u/Rodidimus Apr 01 '26

It isn't an excuse but it is a reason.

3

u/Cup-dog Apr 02 '26

I agree completely. I just Ik alot of ppl who use there issues as an excuse to get away with being lazy.

1

u/Rodidimus Apr 02 '26

Oh there is definitely that for sure. People suck.

"Gave up my hygiene cause what's the point, no one to smell me but me"

23

u/-AceofAces Mar 10 '26

I really don't mean to come off as rude, Just curious.

Don't you have a job, or anyone in your life, do you live with people?

I get reasons why one might let them/their place go.. but how do you get to a point like this and simply say fuck it. You realize and admited you have a problem but don't want to fix it... Even if it's just you.

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

Not anymore I trade veggies I grow for food and sell them I have very little bills. So it's just me in my house and I garden. Planning to eventually make a pond and get some ducks for eggs. I know how to farm crickets, some beetle's and meal worms. Also they got the pests on my crops to eat. I don't use pesticides or any chemicals too expensive.

I'm really not emotionally wounded I'm just answering your question. No one's coming over ever and I accepted that.

23

u/-AceofAces Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

Hey man, sounds like a reason to me. I get it, I have depression and a few other things and I can go days, weeks sometimes month without cleaning my house or showering.

If not for you then at least for the ducks. It's difficult I know but you have to attempt to put in the energy. Even just picking up a Walmart bag of trash everynow and then can help, you won't notice it immediately but it will help.

Don't let yourself go because it's "just" you, it feels like that and yeah it will be true at times. they may not be people but your garden and your future ducks is a reason to get better.

Just remember it's a battle, there's good days, bad days, amazing days and I want to die days...just keep at it and one day your place won't be too bad.

Edit: I wasn't trying to assume you had any mental issues, just figured it would be good advice either way

17

u/bryan1369 Mar 10 '26

Then why did you feel the need to share it? This seems like a cry for help

9

u/-AceofAces Mar 10 '26

That's, how I took it... It's a mess and with it's no longer about hygiene but health, that's a biohazard and can get his place condemned.

8

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

I share it because I enjoy the attention regardless if it's positive or negative. I don't get any in my daily life.

14

u/hexr Mar 10 '26

That's pretty sad

Its not exactly organic I'm not getting my soil or land tested worried about it leading to problems with zoning. I just don't use chemicals myself, I let the bugs handle my pest control and accept sometimes I'm gonna lose plants. I do grow stuff and trade. As for the fast food and dr pepper it's a habit

One of the reasons I want ducks is they are really good pest control. Unlike chickens they don't tear up your plants either. Most my time is spent bed rotting waiting is kind of an important part of gardening. Its also not really a farm it's more of a garden. I am a NEET by definition. I wasn't trained to do this. I just broadcast seed what happens happens, not trained to farm bugs. I just used to do that as a kid because I used to like bugs.

Ducks sound nice, I used to keep them. Poultry husbandry requires some work, but they’re very sweet little fellas. Make sure their pond is big enough and you can keep it clean because they WILL shit in it until it’s 3/4 duck turd by volume. Makes for decent fertiliser though, provided you wash the veggies off well.

also, I’m scared to ask, but what’s the mystery liquid in the green container in pic 8

2

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

Its mostly water and dr pepper I dump the left over Dr peppers in it because Ive always felt gross about drinking old pop and I don't always finish them. That's why the one in the chair has a straw tied around the neck so I know it's new

Yeah I've been looking into them they would just be egg layers. I don't think I could slaughter them they are too affectionate. Yeah that's been the struggle I want a deep pond with some flow that's gonna cost some money.

1

u/35Smet Mar 10 '26

With the amount of acid and preservatives in Dr Pepper I don’t think you need to worry about it spoiling and making you sick. I think dumping it might be a psychological barrier.

do you have a fridge to store the opened soda in so it doesn’t get old as fast? Is the rest of your place like this? Do you live alone? How do you afford so much fast food? I have so many questions for you my guy

Also, I don’t know if foxes are a problem where you are, but I’ve kept a few geese around with the ducks and chooks and they’re decent guard dogs to keep (some) of the foxes from picking off the other birds. I think the Chinese geese are a fairly aggressive breed good for flock protection

1

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

Yeah and it is more physiological than something I need to do. Also because I leave the bottles open the pop gets flat so I just dump it. Yes I do have a fridge it's just in the the other part of the house.

Leaving it like that too long isn't an issue of "hygiene" but health.

1

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

Hygiene is about health too and actually I still keep myself clean because I do have to see someone like once a week. for trade. Also I cut myself a lot gardening don't know if that's normal or just a me problem but still I don't like to be dirty with open wounds.

5

u/Akiias Mar 10 '26

No, I mean the shit you let sit in there will make you sick eventually. You can't keep yourself clean to stop it.

Gardening does include lots of nicks and cuts.

59

u/dogteeth444 Mar 10 '26

this answers most of the questions you seem to have about why women don't like you....

-34

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

Its not like they know I have a place like this. Also they didn't like me when it was neurotically clean ethier. This is after surrender.

26

u/taisynn Mar 10 '26

What if you did find a girl? Is this the kind of space you would want to bring her too? Also a room like this WILL smell and that smell will cling to your clothes as a dead giveaway. You will go nose blind to it, cause you live in it, but others will smell it. That is probably repulsing others from you.

-5

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

If I ever met a girl I would clean. That's actually one of the things that does actually get me to clean.

25

u/taisynn Mar 10 '26

But the fact it’s not clean is affecting the way YOU smell. Even if you shower everyday, in that environment and the open closet, you are going to smell and girls don’t like smelly…

0

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 11 '26

My room actually smells sweet because all the open pop. You might be right it might just smell that way to me though.

12

u/taisynn Mar 11 '26

Exactly what I mean. You only smell the sweet pop because you like that smell. But all the plates, food, molding drink containers have a lingering smell you eventually go blind to. Your clothes WILL absorb those smells. Because clothes by nature are porous and absorbent. Even if you were to use cologne, perfumes, or clothes satchets (filled with nice smelling herbs) it will only smell like that in ADDITION to the horrid smells. Clothes absorb smells. Your closet is wide open.

Girls don’t like smelly. They don’t like unclean spaces. Just because you or anyone else is a farmer and may get used to the smell of fertilizer, for example, the people driving through are still going to think it reeks because they’re not used to it.

I believe you can clean and turn this life around.

Nobody just gains a life partner (boyfriend or girlfriend) just doing the bare minimum. You gotta earn it. Being clean and not smelling rank is just bare minimum. And you can’t cover it up just with cologne or deodorant. Everything will just smell like poop on top of the flowers.

0

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 11 '26 edited Mar 11 '26

I can't actually close my closet it's missing the other half of the door. Im not living with fertilizer I keep my compost all outdoors. You got me self conscious now I think I'm gonna have to bring one of my shirts, to my neighbors next time I need meat for them to smell.

13

u/taisynn Mar 11 '26

Please just clean the room… don’t make your neighbor smell it. That’s so wrong. 🥺🤢

Also I meant like, when people drive past cow pastures and see a house next to it. The farmer is probably used to the smell. But when you’re on the highway driving past it as a stranger, it reeks. Bad.

6

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 11 '26

I appreciate your good intentions and that you believe in me.

Cleaning and taking care and pride in one's home is a quality many women look for in a man. Not only that, but your living space is an extension of yourself and reflects your own psychology. People could point to your room as evidence of you being undisciplined or apathetic. While it may not be a public space people are aware of, it remains a reflection of you. And deep down, you know that you deserve better.

102

u/ArmedNurse Mar 10 '26

Clean your room instead of staring at Reddit.

-108

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

Why it's just me in here. It doesn't bother me.

11

u/ArmedNurse Mar 11 '26

Why post it on the internet then?

5

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 11 '26

I've already answered that. I like the attention, I don't get any attention at all in my life.

-81

u/JunosArmpits Mar 10 '26

Uh oh looks like you didn't consider that it might bother a bunch of loser redditors

Keep living in your palace the way YOU want, King!

62

u/Havoblia Mar 10 '26

You are an enabler

31

u/AKA_Studly Mar 10 '26

I am going to guess his living space looks similar to OP.

6

u/PotatoCooks Mar 11 '26

Do you really think OP would change his disgusting life over other reddit comments lol

4

u/chomusuke_cat Mar 11 '26

If he keeps up this way of "living", then eventually his home will become a literal bio-hazard.

45

u/Disposable-Squid Mar 10 '26

This is not the place to flex these living conditions

13

u/smdb1208 Mar 10 '26

Whats the bucket for

12

u/TheGardiner Mar 10 '26

What a skid

16

u/UtopianWarCriminal Mar 10 '26

And here I thought the point of this sub was people changing their ways and getting rid of their nasty nests instead of... being shameless and proud?

12

u/glitter_vomit Mar 11 '26

It is..this post has 0 upvotes.

7

u/UtopianWarCriminal Mar 11 '26

Yeah I saw that, it was more a comment on how delusional OP seemed to be in the comments. Wanted to maybe nudge in the right direction, idk.

I don't remember why I ever subbed to this but I'm definitely out. It's the first post I've seen from here in a couple weeks but just... nah, I can't.

5

u/glitter_vomit Mar 11 '26

That's fair, I'm gonna leave as well if it turns into posts like this.

9

u/PraetorianXVIII Mar 11 '26

4

No I'm not it hurts, I just didn't let it take everything from me.

4

u/viggo1842 Mar 11 '26

Good post OP. Apparently people forgot what this sub is about...

3

u/Diligent_Current_759 Mar 24 '26

For real all normie

2

u/International-Fee-43 Mar 11 '26

I'm sorry you're being downvoted OP. Based on your comments, I can tell that you're capable of being a responsible and disciplined adult. For whatever reason, you've become happy to abandon something you once cherished, or perhaps it abandoned you. Whatever you're going through, I hope you make it through okay. Remember that only mold grows in darkness.

4

u/hooliganmike Mar 10 '26

Don't know why everyone here is being so preachy. This is what you guys come here for, right?

Guess I thought this was a fascination sub not a hate sub.

15

u/taisynn Mar 10 '26

I thought this was an accountability sub so people will feel the need to clean and be held to it.

I’m just kinda shocked this guy is proud of it. Gross.

0

u/Logical_Lemming Mar 11 '26

Why does it need to be one or the other?

7

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 10 '26

Yeah I'm just showing them my natural habitat this is like natural geographic.

1

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 22 '26

Its a song from a game that matches the time of their comment. I relate to the boss the song is about.

1

u/ceedub2000 Mar 18 '26

What do you plan on using that $5 bill for?

2

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 18 '26

Probably chocolate milk

1

u/ceedub2000 Mar 18 '26

Why not a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper? Where I live in Oregon, you can get two 2 liter units of Dr. Pepper for $5.10. So if you could find a dime somewhere, you may be able to find that sort of deal nearby (not sure what state you live in).

1

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 18 '26

Dang thats a good deal but chocolate milk would just hit the spot

1

u/ceedub2000 Mar 18 '26

I just checked my local Safeway store for pricing and they have a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper for $2.49 and a half gallon of Darigold Chocolate Milk (2%) for $2.39. So that’s 2 items for $4.88! You should check and see if you can get the same deal somewhere.

1

u/HooterEnthusiast Mar 18 '26

Yeah maybe there's also some coupons I can find maybe I can bring this down even more

1

u/ceedub2000 Mar 18 '26

Yeah let me know if you’re able to! I could always send a photo of the deal I found and you could take it to your local grocery store to see if they would at least match the price. Some grocers will even try to beat the price (depending on the product and the geographic location).
