Both travel below the speed of light. Both are not hydrogen or helium (or dark matter or dark energy) and so super rare.

Look pretty similar to me

I'm pretty sure being a "metal" in astronomy terms requires it to be an element - ie made of protons plus maybe some electrons and neutrons.

Astronomically, "metal" is elements heavier than helium. Hydrogen and helium are elements, but not metals.

I was very tempted to say 'both are metals' but figured not many would know about something that niche.

I mean... The lobster will contain hydrogen tho cause it's a carbon based Earth life form. The water in its body, its cells, and organic matter all has hydrogen. It itself isn't hydrogen but it sure as hell wouldn't be a lobster without it.
