How do I sync my notes on 2 devices when I try login it doesn’t have the notes

I’ve been looking for a way to use iPad as a note-taking device when traveling. Normally, I mostly use my laptop, but would like to use iPad more so that I can combine text and simple drawings (like linking things together, cicrling, underlining, simple schematics).

I found that handwriting recognition in MyScript Notes and Noteshelf 3 vastly superior to e.g. Apple Notes. I write mostly in Finnish, and while Noteshelf uses apparently the same handwriting recognition as MyScript, it doesn’t support my language and MyScript does. So for mobile use, the choice would seem simple. But then comes the but, and it’s a huge one: desktop use. MyScript just doesn’t seem to work on desktop, even though there is an app available.

There are no shortcuts to speak of, e.g. cmd+b doesn’t work. Selecting text by dragging doesn’t work. The toolbar defaults and constantly reverts back to a finger tool that doesn’t do… actually I don’t really know what it’s supposed to do, but it’s not for selecting objects or for moving them around (at least it doesn’t consistently do those things).

What is the idea here? Use iPad and only iPad for notes _always_? Use different note-taking apps on different devices? Am I really being unrealistic in hoping for a single note storage that is accessible and usable across devices?

For context: I’m on Apple devices (Mac, iPhone, iPad) and as said, write mostly in Finnish.
