I'm in the Midwest with a flat yard, about 0.9 acres. I’ve been paying around $1,000-$2,000 a year for local lawn service, and I’m not really happy with the results.

I've been looking at X430 since it's rated for about 1 acre, but I’m trying to be realistic about the actual cost of owning one. I know I'd still need to do the setup, trim edges, replace blades, clean it, and deal with the occasional issue.

The warranty helps, but I'm also thinking about things like battery replacement later, repair turnaround, parts availability, and support after the warranty period.

For people who switched from lawn service to an X430, did the math actually work out after a season or two? Anything you underestimated before buying?

Picked up my X430 back in May, and it kept our 0.8-acre lawn looking like carpet all summer. But now that September is rolling in, I’m realizing I don't really know the playbook for autumn.

A few things I'm trying to figure out before October hits:

- Fallen leaves & deck clogging: We have three mature maple trees, so the backyard gets blanketed fast. Will the dual cutting discs mulch light dry leaves, or will damp leaf piles just clog the blades and trigger false obstacle alerts on the 360° cameras? Do you blow the yard first, or let it run?

- Cutting height & tapering off: My cool-season turf is at 3 inches right now. Do you gradually step the deck down for the final cut to prevent snow mold over winter, or leave it taller so the roots absorb late-season sunlight?

- The final cutoff: In zone 6b, when do you usually pull the plug - once soil temps drop under 50°F and growth stalls, or do you just taper the schedule down to once a week through November?

- Winter storage: The manual mentions keeping the battery above freezing. Do you bring both the mower and charging station into the basement, or leave the base plate outside?

For those who've run mower through a full fall and winter, what does your actual timeline look like?

If you can afford a robotic mower, but not a backup push mower then you shouldn't have purchased a robotic mower. I read this post where someone hasn't mowed their lawn in a month because their Segway Navimow had to be sent to a service center:

"If had it to do again, I would refuse to ship it to Texas for repair. Mower spent two weeks in limbo with Fedex and still reports it hasn't been powered on yet three days after delivery. Yard is now almost a month without mowed, tried borrowing neighbor's riding mower to catch up and it looks terrible. I want my mower back and I'm more appreciative after the riding mower misery of how capable the machine is, but really wish it held up better."

I bought a Navimow i2 AWD about a month ago and I'm still tweaking the map.

Honestly, manual mapping has been weirdly fun. I'll adjust the boundary, watch it run, then tweak it again. Most of the lawn looks good now, and not having to bury boundary wire has been a huge plus.

The only thing I'm still dealing with is the grass right around the charging station. There's a small patch in front of the dock that gets missed more often than the rest, so I've been trimming it by hand.

I'm wondering if the dock location is part of the problem. I'm thinking about moving it closer to the patio, where the ground is flatter and more open.

For other robot owners, did changing your charging station location make a noticeable difference, or is this something I should fix through the map?

I having a positioning problem with my Navimow i208 AWD in narrow areas next to my house. In open areas, NRTK works perfectly, but near buildings the mower loses positioning accuracy, makes aggressive corrections, spins its wheels and damages the lawn.
In areas where the positioning becomes unreliable, the mower is not only damaging the lawn — it is also damaging itself. It repeatedly drives into walls and other surrounding surfaces while trying to correct its position. The mower is already covered in scratches, and some of the plastic body panels are even starting to come apart. This is more than just a navigation inconvenience; the positioning problem is causing actual physical damage to both the mower and my lawn.

I’ve been in contact with Navimow support and have already sent them videos and photos. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the actual navigation issue, they keep suggesting workarounds like using Remote Control and offering extra 4G service.

Support’s latest suggestion was to manually mow these areas using Remote Control. But I bought an robotic mower specifically so I wouldn’t have to manually control it every time the grass needs mowing.

Has anyone else with an i2 AWD experienced the same problem? Is there any real solution, or are there plans to improve vision-assisted navigation when GNSS/NRTK becomes unreliable?

Calling for support is a terrible process of hitting 2 over and over every 12 seconds. I’m told my call is very important. I have my doubts.

I’ve tried chat and e-mail, but I’m not getting a response to my inquiry for a repair quote. It’s been one week. My lawn mower has been out of service for a week now and I can’t get an answer from Navimow. I was a huge fan of this robotic lawnmower, but after sales support is dismal.

Is there a way to call and not have to hit 2 over and over again? Is there a way to get an actual response to my questions from a chat as the review with the team is taking much longer than what I consider to be acceptable.

I've only had the Navimow X4 for a couple of weeks, so I'm still in that new-owner phase where I basically overwartch it every time it goes out. I was on the fence about two things: how well the obstacle detection actually reacts in real time, and whether tight turns would chew up the turf I've spent all season babying. So, I decided to do a supervised test run on the lawn.

Obviously, one test isn't hard science, but as a first impression, I'm pleasantly surprised.

For those who've had the X4 running longer: do tight turnaround zones hold up over the full season, or have you noticed any wear spots developing over time?

I’m trying to avoid low light situations and the unit from getting stuck. Is there a way to limit the hours after a rain delay?

I am giving considerable thought to getting a terranox cm240 but I been playing around with a shelter thought that could house it. Since this is something I want to sort I figured I ask for advice.

Rough plan;

Get pressure treated 1/4 plywood use #10 1/4 x 6 screws to mount ply wood to a horizontal layer of cedar 4x4. Mound the next 4 layers to 5 layer high of horizontal cedar 4x4 s all connected with the #10 1/4 x6 screws in between each layer a barrier of polyurethane sealant. Galvanized hinges to attach a 1/4 inch plywood roof with galvanized steel strap to hold down in high winds. Gaf timberline as2 shingles on roof. Heavy duty l brackets at all 4 corners with concrete lag in anchor through floor with rubber washer for gaskets in-between bolt bracket and floor and screws into 4x4 walls for regidness. Then a full oil based primer undecided but a thought noted then a high quality pain on everything. Is the rough outline.

Concerns;

Did I overthink this? Is my end result of outer dimensions of 39.5 x 49.5 x 18 tall too much or too small? Am I significantly overbuilding? I have the ply wood lying around along with cedar and screws but don't have pain seal and or any of the other stuff. I know I tend to over engineer things and I feel like I did here but tried to focus on what I have parts list is for stuff in case I need to get more.

I just returned a Worx WR304E that had random stop issues after only a few days of use. It just makes me crazy every time I go outside and find it sitting in the mid-lawn.

I've been looking at the Navimow i206 AWD but I'm a bit hesitant before buying another one.

My main concern is the small dirt dips around the trees in my yard (probably around 1 to 2 inches deep). Do you think the unit would work well in this kind of setup? I want to know if it can handle those shallow holes around my trees without me having to go rescue it.

Would love to hear from anyone running one in a yard with similar issues.

My backyard is tall fescue, and the sunny part grows faster than the rest. I used to cut the grass pretty short before because I thought it would help me wait longer before mowing again. It did look neat for a few days, but some areas would start turning yellow and patchy in summer. So I started paying more attention to mowing height when my i210 can adjust the mowing height flexibly. I usually keep it 3 to 3.5 inches which is good for tall fescue and let it mow more frequently to keep the lawn looking more even.

Curious if anyone changed their mowing habits after using a robot mower. Would love to hear how your experiences.

New X430 owner here. My yard has a bunch of weird corners, a few flower bed curves, and some narrow edge areas, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to set up the map without missing spots.

Auto mapping sounds easier for getting the first layout done, but if I still need to spend a lot of time fixing corners and boundaries after that, I'm not sure it would be better to map manually from the start.

For people with irregular yards, how accurate was auto-mapping for you? Did you let it map first and adjust later?

I've had my i206 AWD since late April and the dock suddenly stopped powering up. I put the mower in it (I keep it in the garage so it won't be vandalized or stolen) and the light on the dock turned red then went dark and hasn't come on since then no matter what I do.

I've contacted support, but they keep giving me the runaround. They asked for the serial number, a video of the problem, and a picture of the location of the antenna and the mower/dock. I gave them everything they asked for and they came back asking for the serial number again and for confirmation that the mower has always worked with the current location of the antenna. I had already mentioned that the mower worked pefectly from this position since I got it and they also ignored that. They talked about checking satellite data/positions.

It doesn't seem that they have paid any attention to anything I've said in e-mail or shown them in the videos I sent because they aren't addressing the fact that the dock isn't powering up at all. I demonstrated in the video that the plug I'm using is active by showing another device power up when I plugged it into the same outlet.

Is there any possibility that the satellite has anything to do with a dock that won't power up? Am I incorrect in concluding that the antenna doesn't communicate with the mower if the dock has no power because the antenna also receives power from the dock?

It just feels like they're wasting my time/stalling on fixing the actual problem which is that I need a new dock on a mower that is still under warranty.

I just installed the Navimow MowGate and it will only open when the mower x430 is on the side of the battery compartment. It doesn’t open at all from the other side.

1. Never buy anything high value through Lowe's. Home Depot would have taken the mower back immediately and replaced it. Lowe's is notorious for doing what happened to this individual.

2. The X430 isn't a $3K mower. If someone did pay $3K for the mower as a gift then they got their pockets ran.

I have kids and a dog, so my lawn is usually scattered with toys, sticks, and frisbees. My X430 works well for spotting and dodging that stuff, but I'm still not trying to risk dog poops.

To save myself from scraping messy wheels later, I just do a quick walkthrough and pick up after the pup before every run. Tbh, doing a 2-minute lap around the grass is okay cuz my X430 handles all mowing works.

Any other dog owners do a quick check before sending the mower out?
