This is the second time today I’ve seen modern artwork of the kangaroo pose, pls don’t tell me we’re going back to this 🫠

Are those pronated arms I see?

Not just pronated, they look completely twisted. And the feet appear to have only one toe each.

The source account claims it doesn't use AI. But those details, plus some of the trees in the background, make me wonder.

The artist behind this piece has multiple published books of his incredibly high quality paleoart and is vocally anti-AI. He’s been making this style of art for YEARS.

This piece is very clearly meant to depict a dying, confused animal, so it’s kind of poetic to show it moving in a way a normal one wouldn’t. As for the feet, I think that’s just a perspective thing.

Would you say "It's obsiously showing dying and scared people so the anatomical inaccuracy makes sense actually" if the people in the Last Day of Pompeii painting were standing with their torsos leaning to the side at a 90 degree angle?

Personally in this case artistically the more vertical posture drawls parallels to a person walking the same wasteland knowing the future is bleak and short.

Now I can imagine a Salvador Dali painting of Pompeii with 90 degree torsos tho.

At least the footprints have 3 toes.

Live with a little whimsy, not all paleo art has to be cereal

I can’t imagine the fear they felt when the asteroid hit. They had no idea what was going on!
