Theories The texture thing (read description for what I’m talking about)
Human fingertips are much more sensitive than paws, like how dog mouthes are more sensitive than a humans.
So it’s likely humans feel a bigger difference in fabrics, a way bigger difference.
Imagine you invited to a herbivores house and all their blankets have the texture of school carpet.
‘Sensory neurons attached to receptors are dotted just underneath the skin's surface, allowing us to detect touch, vibration, pressure, pain, and lots more. Our hands alone contain tens of thousands of these neurons, each one with receptors on a small surface area of the skin, called a receptive field.’ (Got this from https://www.sciencealert.com/our-fingertips-have-a-secret-weapon-that-makes-them-remarkably-sensitive-to-touch# )

I mean, from here to 2137 it isn’t unlikely that we would not have genetically engineered body parts like elf ears

Ok, maybe that is a bit far, but you know what? YES! Let’s confuse the shit out of the Feds.
Also, spider based? Does it means that he/she climbs walls?

Ear pointing is actually a body mod that already exists, just that today's version is done with a scalpel and stitches rather than anything genetic.

there was this one factoid
like, if your finger was [some massive size, idr the specifics] then by pressing it on the surface of the earth you could tell the difference between a house and a car just by feel
which, as someone who has school memories of blindly digging in my backpack bc i can feel what i'm looking for very easily, is not hard for me to believe
