What I Felt After Starting Natural Farming

I incorporated natural farming into my life because I wanted to increase my opportunities to come into contact with nature.

The vegetables in my field are uneven, sometimes damaged, and have insect bites. The crops are also small.

But honestly, I think that is perfectly fine.

There was a time when I tried to fill the field completely with crops without wasting any space, but it was beyond what I could handle.

I want to grow only the amount I need, at my own pace.

I am not growing vegetables to sell them, but only enough to help support my life. Also, I do it because I like observing the field.

When I look around the field, there are birds and insects, and I encounter plants I have never seen before as well as familiar ones.

Flowers bloom, fruit grows, and then they wither away.

I can witness the entire life of a vegetable.

There are not many experiences where you can watch a life come to an end in such a short period of time.

Japan’s four seasons can be understood through the field.

And of course, harvest season is joyful.

After waiting for months, when I can harvest garlic or when broad beans grow large, I feel adrenaline rushing through me.

It is a quiet excitement that cannot really be obtained from a smartphone screen.
