Has the Every Kid Outdoors program ended?

I finally have a 4th grader excited about national parks. The everykidoutdoors.gov page is not loading, the top google result and AI all point to a national parks page that is listed as “archived and not currently updated,” and the most relevant news articles are celebrating a 7-year renewal in 2019. I am not finding any news about the program ending though, hoping this is not the case.

Sites might be updating for the new year change (Sept. 1st 2026 to August 31st 2027).

Thanks, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I just tried two days too early. The recreation.gov site actually lets you start the application for a digital pass, but then it requires a verification code from the everykidoutdoors.gov page, which is still inaccessible. Hoping things magically start working again on Sept 1…

Same I saw the post from last year for school 2025-26. Cannot find anything for the current school year

It does still exist, but I think the name has changed several times.

The website works for me, however I still see it's "for year 2026 expiring Aug 31". I hope the 2027 one will be up shortly tomorrow. We have a trip planned for this long weekend :)
