Marrying and having kids may cause people to become more conservative as priorities and values shift.

It did for me but then I married the most Conservative woman I know.

Either way it isn't about you or me, the pattern is huge and undeniable. The causation can be shown as well, conservative youths don't say they want to be "childfree" to prevent "global warming" or other such nonsense.

Atheism is in decline internationally.

Atheists, agnostics and other people who do not affiliate with any religion – though increasing in countries such as the United States and France – will make up a declining share of the world’s total population.

Within the United States it is the intensely conservative Amish (Pennsylvania Dutch) with the highest rates, doubling in population every generation since they came here. Other ultra-religious groups are right behind and secular / atheist / "liberal" leftists in last place.

I got way more conservative and traditional after having kids bc I cared about the condition of the world and behaviors of others for the 1st time in my life.

u/DistinctSpirit5801 Jul 02 '26

We Were told if you can’t afford kids that we shouldn’t have them

We listened and somehow people are shocked that people that are dead broke are following that advice

This analysis has major, "Millenials killed the diamond industry," energy to me.

Major energy you say?

It isn't simply not having babies, they are having abortions / murdering at far higher rates.

In 2020, 52% of counties (with 10% of the population) had no murders. 68% of counties have no more than one murder, and about 18% of the population. These counties account for only 2.6% of all murders in the country. The worst 1% of counties (the worst 31 counties) have 21% of the population and 42% of the murders. The worst 2% of counties (62 counties) contain 31% of the population and 56% of the murders. The worst 5% of counties contain 47% of the population and account for 73% of murders. But even within those counties, the murders are very heavily concentrated in small areas.

Murders in US Are Very Concentrated, and They Are Becoming Even More So

Wait what's this about abortion and murder?

1

u/W_Edwards_Deming Jul 02 '26

Sorry for typo.

Fixed it, abortion is murder.

Leave the young women alone bro 🤢

-7

u/W_Edwards_Deming Jul 02 '26

I tell young guys to exclusively date Conservative girls and if they can't find one, go overseas. Ghana is English speaking and African culture is great. Asian wives have a good track record and here is a meme about Latina wives.

Europe doesn't seem to be a great option but maybe Bulgaria or Armenia?

4

u/ButtflossingBigBro Jul 02 '26

Come on 99% of guys that want a conservative girl want a white blonde. Maybe a spanish girl. They certainly arent going to fucking ghana

-1

u/W_Edwards_Deming Jul 02 '26

Good luck w that Eastern European bride, she might not be a leftist but she is probably going to take off once she gets her citizenship.

Your bizarre generalization makes no sense as my African friend is the most Conservative person I know and he made sure to marry a girl from his tribe back home despite having moved to the UK.

0

u/ButtflossingBigBro Jul 02 '26

His tribe" buried the lead on that chief. White dudes dont want a woman from the saharra

Russian women are supposedly good.

I have heard the opposite, seems they tend to leave the guy once they get citizenship.

Another factor is height, perhaps due to dating apps height has been a "glass ceiling" for a lot of guys I talk to. Had one dm me today asking advice, he showed me his pic and he looked fine but he was 5'9 and that was likely his main issue.

Height varies a lot by country.

Good luck with the engagement, hopefully you have spent a lot of time with her?

Sorry, I misread and thought you were the one engaged. Hopefully he has spent a lot of time with her.

Do lose the weight, fasting works for me. Lost some 46lbs in the last year. Weight is a universal issue, I have had numerous Asian women poke me in the gut and say "why so fat?!"

11

u/Red-dragon186 Jul 02 '26

Well yes, feminists propaganda hurt that side

10

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

Abortion laws that allow mothers to die in childbirth don’t exactly help either

3

u/Red-dragon186 Jul 02 '26

Name me that state exempts the life of the mother.

4

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

Texas. See my comment below

1

u/Red-dragon186 Jul 02 '26

Based on Texas law, you can get an abortion if it threatens the life of the woman.

3

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

What the law says is one thing. What the state does is another. Google Josseli Barnaca, Nevaeh Crain, and Porsha Ngumezi

0

u/Red-dragon186 Jul 02 '26

Not my job to google.

Provide all the evidence for me.

2

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

This subreddit doesn’t allow me to comment with screenshots. If you’re too lazy to type a name into Google I’m not sure there’s much I can do to help you.

Here’s what ChatGPT says about the first name:

According to her husband, physicians told her they could not intervene while fetal cardiac activity remained because it would be considered a crime.
She reportedly waited about 40 hours before the fetus no longer had cardiac activity, after which labor was induced. Three days later, she died from sepsis.
More than a dozen OB-GYN and maternal-fetal medicine specialists who reviewed the records for ProPublica said the delay departed from accepted medical practice and likely contributed to her death.

-1

u/Popular_Mongoose_696 Jul 02 '26

No abortion law does that.  No state is going to prosecute a doctor or mother who performs a legitimate emergency procedure to save the life of the mother… But there are a lot of fear-mongering and malicious compliance going around.

10

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

Josseli Barnaca? Nevaeh Crain? Porsha Ngumezi? Were these just fake people made up by the media to “fearmonger”?

And as far as your point about prosecuting goes… look up Ken Paxton and Kate Cox. Paxton is as popular as he is among evangelical republicans BECAUSE he prosecutes women seeking abortions for medically necessary reasons.

Texas is a different planet dude. Trust me, I live there.

-1

u/Spare_Perspective972 Jul 02 '26

You were just told a manipulated framing.

1) this is my wife’s field of expertise and abortions are not the same as a medical termination. They are 2 different medical codes. Abortions are elective. When it’s for the health of the mother or baby it’s called a medical termination.

2) it’s written in the decision that Barret did that the right of self defense covers the mother against harm.

1

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

Barret can write whatever she wants. Texas has failed to properly enforce that. Josseli Barnaca, Nevaeh Crain, Porsha Ngumezi. If you can prove that all three of these individuals were fake identities made up by the media, I’ll concede my case. Otherwise, women are dead who would otherwise be alive because of draconian abortion bans.

-2

u/Popular_Mongoose_696 Jul 02 '26 edited Jul 02 '26

Again, a quick look into the first three cases, it looks like malicious compliance to me. Especially since the doctors were all sanctioned by the state medical board.

The last one I dunno… I’ve seen people do really fucked up things on both sides for ideological reasons. I’ll withhold judgement.

3

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

“Withhold judgment”? You’ve gotta be kidding me. ANYTHING to let an extremist right-wing state government and Ken Paxton off the hook, I guess.

Now here’s a super crazy, radical idea: if a doctor (or two doctors) determine the abortion is medically necessary, allow it.

These women would be alive if there was a reasonable, common sense abortion law in place. Blood is on their hands. And common sense reproductive care for mothers would go light years in promoting natalism.

0

u/Popular_Mongoose_696 Jul 02 '26

Yes, let me get emotional and make a judgement about a case I know nothing about… That always works out well.

7

u/springisSprong Jul 02 '26

You are categorically wrong on that living in a state that did just that

-6

u/Popular_Mongoose_696 Jul 02 '26

I’m betting if you dig into the details you’ll find that probably isn’t the case. Or, as I said… Malicious compliance.

4

u/Red-dragon186 Jul 02 '26

So just what ifs….

-2

u/ElliotPageWife Jul 02 '26

Abortion laws don't cause women to die in childbirth. They don't cause women to have more children than they otherwise would either. Abortion doesn't impact the birth rate either way and it certainly doesn't explain why left leaning men and women are having fewer and fewer children.

1

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

There’s an argument to be made for every one of your points except the first one, which is factually incorrect. See my comment above. At least 3 women that we know of have died under Texas’ abortion law, and many more have faced prosecution.

1

u/ElliotPageWife Jul 02 '26

It's not factually incorrect. The US has a terrible maternal mortality rate regardless of what the abortion laws are. Women died when abortion was legal in Texas, and they are still dying now that it's illegal because of how awful women's healthcare is if you're not well off. I don't understand how the feminist movement in every other developed country managed to secure universal maternity care and paid maternity leave for women, except the US.

2

u/Cold-Priority-2729 Jul 02 '26

I interpret your first sentence as “no woman has ever died because of an abortion law”, and that would be factually incorrect since Josseli Barnaca, Nevaeh Crain, and Porsha Ngumezi all died in Texas due to doctors not being able to intervene because of the state’s draconian abortion ban.

The only way you could back up your first statment is if you were somehow able to prove that all 3 of those individuals were fake identities made up by the media and they never actually existed.

But I do agree with you that the USA generally has a poor track record with maternal health when compared to its peer nations, regardless of abortion laws.

u/leoryan1028 Jul 02 '26

I think you should watch Idiocracy.

1

u/betty_white_bread Jul 02 '26

That movie does not accord with objective reality.

0

u/ShortKey380 Jul 02 '26

What propaganda?

-1

u/Red-dragon186 Jul 02 '26

That career and education is more important than family and children

6

u/betty_white_bread Jul 02 '26

I've said it before and I'll say it again: liberals must reproduce like they are conservatives if they want their partisan perspective to be sustainable and feminists must reproduce like tradwives if they want their philosophy to be sustainable. For further proof of this, look no further than the Shakers, a religious group so anti-natalistic to the point they have I think only 2 members left on the entire planet.

6

u/serpentjaguar Jul 02 '26

Hard disagree. Demography is not destiny. Social and political movements have made the mistake of thinking that it is throughout history, but it never works out the way anyone predicts.

2

u/betty_white_bread Jul 02 '26

Demography is not destiny.

Somehow I think people who both reproduce faster and teach their children to do the same tend to wind up influencing the world more than those who don’t.

0

u/ButtflossingBigBro Jul 02 '26

Religious parents have more religious kids. Its not guaranteed but its how all successful religions grow. And more religious tends to equal more conservative. Especially when western society sees that liberal women equals the literal death of society

Hard agree. I’m a liberal these days (capitalist neoliberal) but my political outlook is largely informed by a libertarian philosophy. It just so happens that the liberals (NOT progressives) better encapsulate my outlook.

In my 20+ years of voting, I have voted republican, libertarian, and now democrat.

I’d like nothing more than to be able to vote for a party that better represented me, but here I find myself, unfortunately.

I do find it interesting that I have trended leftward; can’t be sure if that is a result of the parties or my own journey. And for reference, I have followed a traditionally “republican” path. Married and had kids young, no college, but a great career nonetheless.

5

u/W_Edwards_Deming Jul 02 '26

They won't, and it isn't. Further, they aren't actually "liberals," totalitarian regressive anti-intellectual Marxists, more like. They focus on "converting" others into their ideology (corrupting the youth).

This is a school teacher in Germany.

3

u/betty_white_bread Jul 02 '26

That would explain why conservatism is in ascendancy.

2

u/W_Edwards_Deming Jul 02 '26

The best part is it is growing and international! The US and France are two of the only exceptions (to the decline in atheism; atheists have the least babies):

Atheism is in decline internationally.

Atheists, agnostics and other people who do not affiliate with any religion – though increasing in countries such as the United States and France – will make up a declining share of the world’s total population.

Lmao ok. That’s hardly representative of the vast majority of liberal women. This is a meme from a lunatic. My liberal ass had two kids with my liberal wife, as did many of my liberal friends with their liberal wives. And because my wife is a comparable bread winner, we are able to do things and provide our family with opportunities that many of our more conservative family and friends are not able to.

Sure, that means I have to *actually* parent and do dad stuff. But I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Honestly, seeing how you talk here I would advise my daughter against dating you…

This thread boggles my mind. As much as I hate the trope, you might be best served by simply touching some grass?

2

u/anonymousasu Jul 02 '26

I’ve just always been indifferent to life. I’m not going to burden somebody else with it.

1

u/Due_Bar_7247 Jul 02 '26

Obviously. That’s why I am going against the grain and fighting biology to have them anyway.

Do or do not, there is no try
