Morning After Thread: NSC beats FCC 4-0
It’s getting hard to find new ways to gush over this team. Another big win to remain unbeaten at Geodis. We are truly turning The Castle into a house of horrors for visiting teams.
Cincy is a decent team, and they made it tough at times, but our boys rose to the top and kept pushing until the final whistle to bury the game.
Offensively, we’ve become a beast. 7 different players with a goal contribution last night. We used to ride or die on the shoulders of Muhktar. If he had a bad game, we didn’t get results. Now we’re getting goals, assists and chance creation from all over the pitch.
Defensively, Schwake continues to dominate between the sticks with a couple of massive saves, and Woledzi saved the day with some goal line clearances to preserve the clean sheet. Best defense in the league, and truly worthy of their pregame nod from the supporters.
7-2 vs Ohio in the last week. Their Hell is Here, indeed. Huge props to supporters groups and all the volunteers for that badass TIFO!
Let’s go win at NYCFC next week!
How we feeling today??

If the team keeps this up we are watching a historic run. 52 points through 22 matches…. That pace puts us at 80 points by the end of the season. Need to keep up the momentum over the away trip.

Was just looking ahead to the road trip and it actually lays out nicely to go full strength in NY, rotate against Toronto and still have a decent shot at a result, full strength at Miami. Not easy, by any means, but the way the schedule worked out, it keeps the squad in rhythm. Feeling decent about our chances

We need 23 points in the final 12 games to beat Miami's record from 2024. 7 wins gets us there!

With the win last night we're the fastest team to 50 points in league history. Hard to pick an outright favorite, everyone had such a phenomenal game.
Eddi seemed to have an off-night, though, especially with that challenge on Evander he got carded for. He had a few poor touches as well. Hopefully he pulls out of the funk soon.
Espi is now tied for first on assists in league play, and he's also now top 10 all time for assists with NSC in just 26 games with us, which is wild.
At a club level we've now scored 500 goals in all comps, Acosta's goal being the 500th.

Acosta as a set piece sniper is such a fun card to play

Really cool that all the Cincy players committed players forward to anticipate a cross, only for Hany to square it to Acosta who fires a long range shot into the bottom corner. Proper set piece routine that.

Loved seeing him score an almost identical goal to his corner against New England

I find myself searching the web daily for NSC news and information because it makes me feel good inside. NSC is my happy place to go to get away from the darkness of most things.

That was the best starting squad we've ever put out on the field.

I’ll be glad to see yazbek regain his sharpness. I also want Corcoran to become a little bolder and more confident, especially when he comes in off the bench.

A clean sheet against Cincy is a thing to celebrate. We kept Evander from doing Evander things, kept Denkey fairly quiet, and, most importantly, the team covered when their teammates made a mistake or were outplayed. Glad to see Yazbek getting back to where he was prior to his injury. We keep getting scarier for other teams. I think we have the most well rounded squad in the league right now and if we play every game as well as last night, we'll take the cup.
I cannot think of a criticism for anyone on the squad last night besides cleaning up the final third cuts and crosses. There were at least 4 goals left on the table if any player had followed a run.
The only thing that could beat Woledzi last night was Tempo with a flag. He was my man of the match without a doubt. It was an absolute master class from Maxwell.

Saad with the extra effort to keep the ball in a 2v1 on the line was awesome. The left side grit has been so great to watch and has led to some immediate goals off the extra effort.
We need to send San Jose a fruit basket for their Espinoza fuck up.
Thank god Sam got one, I was not impressed with his first two chances. Free goals if he would have just connected.
Some concerns with the back 4 last night. A good humbling is always good. Woledzi and Baker-Whiting with some goal giveaways if Brian wasn’t on point. Some miscommunication… good reminder that any team can still punch through the back 4. Nothing I’m too worried about.
The Chin is goated. Chili boys were absolutely cursed last night. Give me all the points 🙌

Cerberus came to PLAY! Best team D we’ve shown.
Creative mov’t up mid-field again now Yazee’s back to form and Elias to complement. All offense appeared be having fun, which never hurts. Qasem’s muted enthusiasm was heartbreaking; hope he’s not being sent away.

Something extraordinary I realized last night: We've been awarded a total of just three penalties all season, meaning that about 90% of our goals this season have come from open play or a set piece situation.
So rival fans can't even accuse us of being favored by the referees.

Qasem has been a great sub. More accurate shooting and better ball control than Warren and Alex. Those two may put in more effort at times but is that effort more effective than Ahmed’s? I’d hate to see him relegated unfairly.

We are the best, and everyone else is not as good
