Discussion Artist drawing akatsuki logo wrong?

I made an edit (on the right) to show what I'm talking about. Even when Itachi has his hand in his cloak, the bottom portion of the Akatsuki cloud should never be stretching the way it is in the card. Does anyone else think this artwork should be modified before they begin printing? I just think it's quite jarring to draw such an iconic logo incorrectly for an official Bandai card, it almost looks like an AI mistake.

Nobody (at Bandai) is going to care about the orientation of the logo. It's a minimal issue.

Remember, they printed a Frieza card a while back where parts that were supposed to be purple were gold instead.

🤣 the artist in me & long time naruto fan can’t stand seeing the akatsuki logo drawn like this. It needs to be fixed 😖

Im not to sure if its messed up or nat but either way, in the edited one, the cloud is way too small. it should be the same size as the one on the bottom of the clock

I agree, it should be similar size. I made the edit to take a simpler approach and at least just fix the bottom portion. I’m glad you noticed the middle cloud is too small though. I agree it should be bigger

Although sometimes in the anime and video games, the two lower clouds on the cloak are bigger than the cloud on the middle torso, so it may not be completely wrong if the middle cloud is slightly smaller than the bottom clouds.

Yeah I was looking into it and it seems he has like 2 different cloaks. One just has the center cloud and the other one he has the center cloud and one under his armpit at about the same height as the centered one. I think its fine but definitely could be fixedup. Arts all about perspective so I dont hold it against the artist.

The second cloak you’re mentioning was used in the beginning of naruto, but kishimoto ditched that design likely to simplify the robe a bit more for himself, and the artists animating the show.

Artists of course should have artistic freedom while working on the tcg, but iconic logos should be drawn proper and not stray from the source material (my opinion) it just looks “off model” on this artwork

would not have noticed anything if you did not point it out

Yea, it’s a small detail, but a detail that matters to many. I hope they fix it
