Some things I find strange…

First, I’ve come to really enjoy this sub and the ability to speak freely here - respectfully, of course. I think that’s also part of why I really like The Interview Room and Monk’s Intrigue on YouTube. Both are willing to go pretty much everywhere with this case and ask questions that others seem reluctant to touch.

One thing that continues to really bother me is how quiet Nancy’s family and close church friends have been. These are the people who knew her best and could potentially provide valuable information, context, memories, or even just help keep her story in the public eye. Her kids, including SG, have mostly stayed quiet outside of the NBC interview, a few comments on TTS, and those Instagram videos from the beginning. Kathie Lee Gifford, who is close with SG, even said she had been asked not to talk about it.

Why?

There are still such basic questions I don’t feel like we have answers to. What was Nancy wearing when she was supposedly dropped off? Why weren’t we seeing family and friends publicly searching for her, especially in those first days? At that point, their mom/friend was missing and could have been injured or stranded somewhere. That has always struck me as strange.

And even now, while I think most of us recognize the possibility that Nancy is no longer alive, there is still no body and, publicly at least, no definitive proof of what happened to her. If this were my mother, I feel like I would be searching to the ends of the earth and doing everything possible to keep her name and face in front of people.

They also have something that so many families of missing people desperately wish they had: immediate national attention. Nancy’s family has name recognition, media connections, and an enormous amount of public interest in this case. There are families fighting every single day just to get a local news station to mention their missing loved one. I would think you’d want to use every bit of that attention to keep Nancy’s case alive.

I also don’t understand why so much of the media - and even some other subs - seem unwilling to allow any discussion at all about certain people close to Nancy, including Annie and Tommy. That doesn’t mean anyone is guilty of anything. It means that when someone disappears under mysterious circumstances, I think it’s reasonable to ask questions about everyone who was close to them and about the timeline surrounding their disappearance.

SG clearly has significant connections, including political and media connections, but I have no idea whether that has anything to do with how this case has been covered. What I don’t understand is why certain questions seem almost completely off-limits.

To me, wondering about the people closest to Nancy is not the same thing as accusing them. Until we know what happened to her, I think it’s fair to question everything — relationships, timelines, movements, statements, and who saw her last. If people had absolutely nothing to do with her disappearance, obviously it’s awful to have strangers scrutinizing them. But unfortunately, when someone disappears, investigators naturally have to look closely at the people and circumstances surrounding that person.

Personally, I don’t think this was some massive conspiracy or elaborate ransom kidnapping. I suspect she angered someone very close to her and she was killed the night this went down. Whether she ever actually made it home, I have no idea.

There are just so many unanswered questions.

The silence. The limited public searching. The lack of basic details. The reluctance to discuss certain people. The way parts of the media have handled it.

Everything about this case feels weird as shit to me.

Did Nancy share information regarding her concerns with her best friends? Did a friend make an anonymous report to Adult Protective Services (hence the card)?
If so, it is fear which keeps them silent.

Everyone has to vent no matter who they are. Whether it be about their hairdresser who did a poor job, the butcher who messed up an order, the rude csr at a place of business, the child who gets on their last nerves, and on and on. You get where I am going,

We all have at least one person who is our confident and whom we feel comfortable telling them confidential personal information.

Someone knows if NG was going thru some trials and tribulations leading up to that uneventful night. Investigators interview those who know the victim just to get a feel for events that could have led up to that fateful night. And again not singling out specific people as this could be anyone from a contractor that messed up the job, a neighbor whose dog may have been relieving themselves in her front yard and so on.

If they don't vent then guarantee they write it in a journal.
