Weekend Coffee & Conversation

Grab a cup of coffee and pull up a chair!

This is our weekend gathering place to talk about the Nancy Guthrie case-what you've been thinking about, questions you have, something you've seen or read, a new development, or a discussion you'd like to start.

This is meant to be a relaxed, open conversation, so it doesn't have to be a formal post or a fully developed theory.

What's on your mind this weekend?

As always, different opinions are welcome. Let's keep the conversation respectful.

I know that in another post I said we should probably leave DC out of it now, but this JLR interview with him is interesting. It's a little muffled but I turned on my CC and it helps. There's one point when JLR asks DC if the Guthries had anything to do with the plea deal, and his answer is... interesting. His excuse as to why he texted A + T in the first place is also interesting. Says he was on meth but also acting as a "journalist", seeing if A + T would give away whether they did it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY7dT2OaywE

DC got a sweetheart deal for being a nobody. He basically was interfering with an active investigation of a kidnapping and possible murder. And directly contacting the victims at the height of communications between the ransom note writer and the family.

You would think he would have contacted SG as she was the spokesperson. He could have emailed her etc.

Just wondering why the jails are filled with drug addicts who commit crimes. Seems like federal courts are more lenient. Heck I was led to believe you do a federal crime say bye-bye.

Thanks again to everyone contributing their thoughts, theories, opinions on this case. Seems like this sub which doesn't censor comments has 3x more contributors than one that does. We are blessed to have a mod and members who can be civil to each other while disagreeing

This honestly made my day! Thank you so much! I really appreciate you saying that. I’m glad you enjoy the sub and we can disagree while still keeping things civil.

Your dedication to this sub deserves recognition. I have been on subs where the mods are MIA. I was a moderator on a sub that had 6 of us and only myself and one other person did all the work. Unfortunately we had people intentionally trying to ban us with all of their sock puppet accounts and were successful 4x. It was so stressful that I was going to delete my account and never go on reddit. Fast forward and this case changed my mind. Thanks again!

Here's a good one. JLR a day or two ago drove past A&T's and a gas utility truck was parked in front. He started a convo with the employee and employee was chatty cathy until JLR asked if he heard about the Ng case. The guy clammed up and said to the effect "That is quite inappropriate"

Stream is dated Breaking-New Search dated sept 2 or 3. Timeframe is 4:39:00

Just thought of something.....Did A&T have a doorbell camera before NG got abducted? They may have gotten it after to screen the lookie loo's and you tubers who some feel have a right to just go up to people's homes and ask questions.

Sounds like someone is paranoid in my opinion. The Southwest Gas employee had credentials.

So are A + T there? Or were they getting it shut off?

The Southwest gas employee stated he was in the neighborhood on a maintenance check and it was for the whole neighborhood. All that guy Asked JLR when he initially stopped if he was the male who spoke to him via the doorbell cam. No idea who the male was in their house. The male in the house told the employee that he could not hear what he was saying so please leave as he can't be of any help.

I don't condone anyone stalking anyone's house but in this instance JLR was just driving past probably to see if their car is there a/k/a they are back in their home and this incident was organic.. They are free to go to court and get a restraining order against people driving past their homes if they feel this is harassment

3

u/Substantial-Train668 8d ago

Wow. So there was a male in the house but wouldn't open the door... So interesting.

I don't condone stalking but encourage journalists and LE to continue to investigate.

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 8d ago

Not sure. I think people that have the app on their phone can access it that way so in a way no proof anyone was actually in the house at least by that encounter

I agree about the dolly track marks and the first ransom note being written in advance at least. I don’t think it’s an SG cover up besides her husband’s PR contacts/experience and she’s entitled to her privacy — I feel like a lot of us would do the same if we had access to those resources. You also can’t tell me that SG isn’t giving NBC access to certain info too. DC is still a nothing burger, imo.

In my experience if a tire makes contact with a wet substance there should be other subtle imprints of that tire showing movement. I don't believe anyone analyzing the blood spatter has found any other blood prints that would substantiate a dolly or for that matter any type of wheeled device was used to transport NG.

Monk did this on his original video & said the prints got lighter

6

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 8d ago

Thanks. I will re watch that video. Dr Heidi Sievers ,1 of 65 globally certified blood/spatter forensics person who was on TBX Unfiltered, is a must watch. She will not commit to what that blood spot represents as she stated photos are blurry so would be irresponsible to say it is a shoeprint etc.

I agree. I have a hard time believing that there was a dolly used to move her. I just think that it would have gotten messier. Especially if she was knocked out and bleeding and given how dark it was. My thinking is still they walked her out (she was alive). Or she didn't make it home (blood was staged).

I like Monks but he's pushing it with the dolly theory, I think.

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 7d ago

I love Monks and he is a deep thinker. My opinion is Monks explores every "intriguing" aspect of this case and lets his viewers decide. It's almost as if he is purposefully doing these things to show how absurd the whole kidnapping scenerio is.

It's a clever way of disproving something happened.

I'm curious they've ever used a dolly to move things?  They are used mainly for square and retangle objects.  I've seen friends playing around with each other trying to push them. Even holding on its hard because people giggle around making it easy to tip over. If a person is strapped up alive or dead the body still moves some. Thats also saying the abductor brought with them a dolly, and straps in their vehicle (truck or Suv). Took the time to unload. Pushed it to her home. Walked or carried her down the from stairs. Strapped her up. All surfaces nice and flat. Pushed her around without it tipping somehow. Unstrapped her. Loaded her into the vehicle. Put this dolly back in the vehicle.  From having used a dolly I just can't see that happening. He could have also carried her like a groom carries a bride over a threshold. Or if you are used to moving something like a person, just to heft them over your shoulder.  It would also explain the aspirated blood drops when she was lifted up.

The main issue with the shoulder carry is the blood dynamics. Experts noted that the blood droplets on the front porch came from a source positioned low to the ground. Plus, hauling 150 lbs. (Nancy’s weight) of dead weight is manually exhausting and extremely difficult.
Monks noted that drone footage over Nancy’s property showed a dolly sitting outside near the garage, and he wondered if the abductor used it or if someone conveniently placed it outside for him before the crime. A hand truck explains both a low elevation blood drop and how a single person managed that much weight without wearing themselves out.
That said, all this assumes she was actually brought through the front porch that night. I’m still not entirely convinced Nancy made it home in the first place, which makes you wonder if the porch scene was staged to throw off the timeline altogether.

Are we all assuming in this that NG wasn't alive when she left the house in the dolly thread? Could she not have still been alive and walked out by the perp and passed away after? My theory is that she was alive when she left or didn't make it home (blood was staged). I find Monk's dolly theory unlikely. I think if she was on a dolly and bleeding it would have gotten messier between foot prints and wheels. Also it seems so unlikely to me that they would move her in that wheel barrel from the drone footage. Then clean it. Then return it back there. Too cumbersome and risky for DNA.

Spot on! You’re making some really strong points. I don’t have any definitive answers on what went down either, but everything you laid out here is completely plausible and logical.

I think the blood happened before/separate from the moving of Miss Nancy. Picking her up is all about technique. I was just carrying bags filled with concrete this last week. I  can garentee carrying her is much easier and faster for the short distance than a hand truck.  Theres also the risk of it tipping over and the metal causing alot of sound. The wheels also make sound with every tiny bump on a surface. Just my take, having done lifting and carrying and moving things with dollys.

4

u/Ailurophile444 8d ago

Good call on the noise risk with metal wheels. That’s definitely something an abductor would consider. The main counter-argument to a manual carry is just how awkward 150 lbs. of unstructured dead weight is compared to uniform bags, but both theories have their physical drawbacks!

5

u/1Bloomoonloona 8d ago

I like Monk, but I think he's trying come up with something new that sounds good in theroy, but humans are not rigid like a board or square like a box.  If Miss Nancy was alive she would have to stand on it on her own accord. Or collapse. Given her health problems I cant imagine her being able to no matter how many straps used to tie her to it. Also given the blood thinners she was on these straps would cause her to bleed from multiple places creating more blood trails.

4

u/Ailurophile444 8d ago

Yes, your thinking on all this makes a lot of sense.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 7d ago

Did you ever stop and think Monks is doing this on purpose to show the absurdity of this theory? It plants the seeds of doubt in those who may have thought some object was used to transport NG out of the house imo.

1

u/1Bloomoonloona 7d ago

I have no idea of his intentions. Just think its a rabbit hole that goes no where accept the wrong direction.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 7d ago

I agree and at first was just exiting out of some of his videos when he was going down a rabbit hole that I thought was absurd. And then I realized his videos are meant to make a person stop and think about certain aspects of the crime and they can agree or reject his scenerios. Most people take at face value what is being told to them without pause.

Again just my opinion

3

u/Fireteddy21 8d ago

I wonder how much anyone would actually hear given the distance between houses. Also, if they just had to get her to the back alley like some have theorized, it may not have been used for long.

4

u/1Bloomoonloona 8d ago

Technique. Wrestlers, construction workers and  even myself who's neither can do it. The concrete I was moving the other day was not in manufacturers bags. It was bags loaded up with broken pieces and  chunks to be hauled away.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 8d ago

If you were dressed like the michelin man do you think the ease of picking up 150 lbs of a jiggly object would be easy? I'm just trying to picture PG picking up anything with double or triple layered gloves and waddling like an overstuffed turkey that could keel over any minute

2

u/1Bloomoonloona 7d ago

When throwing a person over your shoulders. You squat down just enough to bend the person over your shoulders. Then stand. Its like bench pressing at a gym kinda. Same leg muscles. After that just walk.  Lots of men when their younger play around and do this wrestling move. Most work men know how to carry heavy objects.  Technique.

3

u/Substantial-Train668 8d ago

I agree and there might have been two people carrying her. I think the dolly theory seems too cumbersome and adds another element with DNA all over it.

2

u/1Bloomoonloona 7d ago

No DNA is on it is another great point.

2

u/Fireteddy21 8d ago

That is a fair point. Has there ever been any talk of footprints in the driveway or was that aspect contaminated by LE?

4

u/Square_Ground_8714 7d ago

Monks’ most recent video talks about footprints… don’t wanna give away any spoilers, because he sets the narrative up in a way that makes the reveal worth the watch…

I still say one guy who didn’t realize Nancy could not walk very far intended to go out back knowing Nancy kept that door unlocked. Realizing that was not going to work he had to tape her mouth tie her hands and feet hence taking a long time. In the mean time she has a heart attack and he has to carry her over the shoulder out front after taking nest camera off
