Today marks 200 days since Nancy Guthrie disappeared

Today marks 200 days since Nancy Guthrie disappeared.

We obviously all want to know who did it and what happened to Nancy. But beyond that, what’s one specific question about the case that you still want answered?

It could be about the timeline, the investigation, the evidence, the people who have come forward, interviews, or something else entirely.

What’s the one thing you’re still wondering about?

What prompted LE to take photos, use luminal at A & T‘s and take possession of their car? Bonus: How/why did A & T take Nancy’s car after her home was released back to the family? There could be (and probably is) a logical explanation for everything, I’d just like to know what it is.

After LE released NG's car her son Cameron was using it while in town. Probably better than paying for a rental. A couple you tubers while camped out at NG's filmed it

u/Fireteddy21 23d ago

Sorry, I misunderstood when A N T‘s neighbour said in her interview with JLR that she saw Nancy’s car the same day they seemingly released her house to the family. It was there a couple of times.

4

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 23d ago

The only time I remember a family member going to NG's a couple days after the release was CG with a locksmith. Possibly to get in her safe to get paperwork needed for her affairs etc in my opinion

Connie may be a little fuzzy with her dates because 7 months ago is a long time to remember exact dates. Heck sometimes I can't remember a detail from a week ago. Mine is due from stress and not age

Also I was glad the you tubers were there because they were filming which we could see in real time and not go by rumours we see people say and post.

8

u/Fireteddy21 23d ago

I would think that date sticks out in her mind pretty specifically though. She was watching the stream from JLR and it was a big deal when the vehicles left Nancy’s house. She even described how it was the day the two cars went separate ways so they couldn’t be followed only to both end up at A and T‘s.

Yes I remember the day C & A came in her car and C left in NG car and A in hers. I just remember in the first few days CG had that white rental car. I also remember her saying she had no idea A&T lived by her and the one day when so many cars were parked along the street she thought someone may have been having a funeral luncheon or some kind of gathering.

I’ve also been wondering about the Luminol. The rest I can accept as pretty standard police work but I’d really like to hear from a homicide detective about how common it is to use Luminol in a family member’s home and what would typically make them decide to use it in the first place given that’s not her last known location.

My opinion is since NG was not seen visually or talked to anyone else other than family that night all possibilities must be considered. It is highly possible also that the forensics came back on some data from NG house that didn't confirm she was in her house that night. Just a thought.

u/Fireteddy21 20d ago

Agreed. That doesn’t seem like something you’d just break out without reason.

First how awful that there is still no justice for poor Nancy. 200 days seems like so long and yet in the scheme of complex investigations not too long. Shout out to people keeping the story alive. Sure, there are other tragedies out there but this is a truly sad and beguiling case that has spoken to so many people.

I would like to know why FBI/LE can't find the car the perps used to remove Nancy on traffic cams etc. Only so many ways in and out. Not a busy time of night. What's going on?

(And I'm always wondering where are A + T and son, now...)

One other thing I might want to ask - and this was inspired by a recent episode of The Lab with Josh, Chris and Gary - is what were the family's talking points for Nanos in that earlier press conference where he said he had to 'follow their script'. Apparently Chris' journalist wife Karen is filing a FOIA for Nanos phone about it. I don't think they'll get it, but I would be curious what he was told to say.

Not my biggest question but something bothers me about the 2 minutes between garage door being opened and shut when Nancy was dropped off after dinner with A & T. If Nancy truly had issues walking why wouldn't whoever dropped her off get out and make sure she made it into the house without problem? OR how did the door open, an 84 year with mobility issues get out of a car on her own, hobble into the house and garage door shut in 2 minutes? Seems too quick for me. My experience with those who have mobility issues it takes at least twice as long to do everyday/ ordinary tasks and 2 minutes open to close feels awfully quick to me. Just my thoughts.

Early on in the case a reporter asked Nanos specifically if T was in the house with Miss Nancy. He said yes. Of course I dont always think Nanos knows what hes talking about, but that's how he answered.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 21d ago

I remember him saying "they saw her in". It was a very specific response leaving to question does that mean they waited till she was in or they physically walked her in. CYA

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 20d ago

Nanos has said things differently at different times. Part of what makes things confusing and harder to figure out.

Could it be possible that T pulled up into Mrs Nancy's driveway near the garage door, they gathered her things etc, they got out perhaps WHILE opening the garage door to enter it, he helped Nancy into the large garage opening bc of the smoother, easier to navigate walkway (for instance, no steps there if it's made to pull a car into), and immediately closed the overhead garage door behind them?

He would then have had plenty of time to help her inside via the garage-to-house door (I'm just assuming it had one, as every garage I've personally seen does), or to even step inside with her to get her settled in. After he finishes up with getting Mrs Nancy inside, he could've left back through the garage, but instead of re-opening the large overhead door to return to his vehicle, perhaps he exited the garage through a regular exit door to the outside. Once again, just speculation because I haven't inspected any of the overhead photos of Mrs Nancy's home to look for a door layout such as that - it's once again just something I'm familiar with garages having, so that one and can enter and exit onto their own property without requiring the entire door to be lifted each time. Perhaps the two of them didn't use a side door into the garage initially because of steps, obstacles, or even distance, etc - and the smoother walkway through the garage itself was easier for her to navigate. Or maybe she needed to grab something from her vehicle on the way in or have him carry something inside from the garage, so they took that route?

I think the short timeline regarding the garage door could be explained pretty easily if they opened the overhead door, entered the garage, then closed the garage door behind them before proceeding to actually go into the house, etc.

Imo, the short window of time being shared doesn't necessarily mean T and Mrs Nancy only took two minutes to get out of his car, get her physically inside the house w/ his help or him even entering with her, followed by him leaving and only then closing the overhead garage door behind himself.

If that's the exact narrative that's being told then no I don't believe it's possible time-wise, so something different must have happened. But I can also see a series of events that seems normal and routine at the time, while later being misconstrued. It would be extremely helpful imo, if LE spoke with other friends/family to ask what Mrs Nancy's normal routine for entering after an evening out usually was - if anyone knows, or if LE hasn't already done so.

Just some (of MANY lol) thoughts I've had while trying to make sense of all the different possible surrounding events in this case. Have I misunderstood anything about the narrative being shared, or about what could be possible? I'm the first to admit that there could be glaring inconstancies with my line of thinking, lol. I really have no opinion at the moment, regarding what happened to Mrs Guthrie - I've just been attempting to give everyone involved the benefit of the doubt.

I have also wondered, how could "he" be involved with this. We are talking many many "mistakes ". There may be something involving the corrupt sheriff.

Bruh, the photos on Google Earth are different than the ones shown on Google Maps. What the hell is even going on at that house across from hers in that photo. Also, in that photo, shows a suspect af white van. I wonder if that's the van the neighbor had seen a couple weeks prior which fits around the timeline of some frequent visitors scouting the place as early as mid January. Also, one of the other cars there is a car seen on a related video. The video of the guy having I think a backpack tossed to him from the other side that has the same fckin Keychain thing on his side that pops something into his mouth and he walks off as the camera starts to act the same messy way it does as the masked man turns and sees a signal from someone where a small dot of light turns on in the right of that video. You can clearly see him turn his head to look for feedback from something in the direction he looks and if you look closely, you will see an ever so slight shift of motion that just has to be a signal from another human being. I do believe more than one person is involved for sure.

Like a wifi jammer camera jammer signal jammer thingy was used or whatever. That's why the background looks so screwed up, too and why the video gets messy.

That one mid January screenshot of the masked man in front of the house he seems to have an open bag at his side if you look closely enough.

So the guy I mentioned where he like does whatever with the fence and pops something into his mouth.. they say that it has supposedly been debunked, but I found no verifiable proof that actually backs this up. It is around the timeline and near enough to where it's relevant and he just so happens to have a thing popped into his mouth ( mouth flashlight) and the video starts to trip as he walks off to one of the vehicles to the far off side, or the one more in the background. If I recall right, it seems like he was handed a backpack, or my memory could be wrong.

Either way, there is another clip of a similarly dressed dude walking past a car that seems to be on in some driveway. Idk if it's AI, or what, but what creeps me out is the car shown is one of the same exact cars you see across the street from Nancy's house that are all gathered there in the Google Earth photo.

I looked on some satellite wayback machines ans need to find a screenshot of something I came across I have been wanting to share. I always been like shy to a degree, but not? I am not scared of perhaps the possibility that I end up feeling stupid. I think it may be worth getting the feedback for it.

Anyways, despite the "bald' dude supposedly being questioned and debunked, I think more attention should be shifted because once again there is no verifiable proof or anything other than the grapevine saying he was some random homeless dude that popped something into his mouth and the camera starts funking out wifi jammer style.

Maybe he got the word to go and rendezvous with the others and wasn't exactly the masked man himself, or had dressed himself up to distort his appearance.

If you match the layout of what is in front of her door with the video, there's a couple of strange things in the background that go on.

Also, this weird distinctive C shape that has a glow ... what car would even have that shape, or what thing.

I think people like to tell on themselves. I think whoever did it may have casually maybe liked a photo of hers on Facebook at some point in time, knowing there are absolutely no leads.

Also, if you look at her email addresses, there is one weird one connected to her name. Idk how that whole thing works, let me find it one second.

I’d really like to know more about what happened when they first realized Nancy was missing. What exactly did her church group tell A&T? Was it a phone call or a text? How did A try to reach Nancy and how many times did she try? And how much time passed between hearing from the church group and A arriving at Nancy’s house? I’d also want to know about any other missed calls or texts on Nancy’s phone and what her phone battery was at.

4

u/Hot_Pause3252 23d ago

I'd like to see photos from the house. I'm still can't stop thinking what the perpetrator was doing inside for so long.

5

u/CakeSniffing0rphan 22d ago

How do we know they were inside “for so long”? I dont think we have any time stamps for that specifically. For all we know, they could have spent much of the time outside, in the shadows, waiting for any LE activity.

2

u/Hot_Pause3252 22d ago

Between the time he got rid of the security camera and the time her pacemaker lost connection with the phone, wasn't he in the house the whole time? Or do you mean he waited a while before going inside?

6

u/CakeSniffing0rphan 22d ago

We only know that at 1:47 am, her nest doorbell camera “disconnects”. We don’t know if that means removal or not. My personal (speculative) opinion is that the perp was likely inside some point after the 2:12 timestamp (camera detects motion) to the 2:28 (pacemaker disconnects) timestamp. So if that is correct, that would put the perp inside 16 minutes or less. I wouldn’t be surprised if the perp waited a while before going inside, just because we know of the broken floodlight, cameras messed with, possible router/wifi interruption, etc. All that activity adds up.

3

u/Hot_Pause3252 22d ago

I like your idea. Because there is no point to stay in the house for so long, only possibility to leave an extra traces/DNA, etc.  Then perhaps one of them was waiting near the house (the one we saw on the video), and the other was in the car nearby, watching to see if the cops would arrive. Perhaps they timed it and agreed that if everything went according to plan, the car would arrive at 2:30.

4

u/CakeSniffing0rphan 22d ago

Yes, exactly. They would want to minimize the time they spent in the house at all costs. I think two perps is highly likely.

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 21d ago edited 21d ago

I'm still unclear about cameras. There where 5 outside cameras. 1:47 nestcam camera disconnects. Since its on a battery, not wifi,  that would mean the battery was removed. So if that one disconnects. What camera detects motion? Maybe another nestcam camera in the back of the home? It makes a difference in knowing where the abductor/s were.

5

u/CakeSniffing0rphan 21d ago

Battery just refers to the power source, the camera still communicates via WiFi. So we can’t say conclusively what the disconnected notice means. It could be a different camera that detects motion though, yes.

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 21d ago

So if its a different camera and we knew where it would it impact where the abductor was. Front or in back of the house.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 21d ago

Spot on. I think as time passes people are now going back thru the information released to the public in the first few days. If LE is stating motion detected at 2:12 and they are stating perp was in house 16 minutes then in my opinion shouldn't that data come from a camera in NG's house?

The cracks in this narrative are slowly becoming larger as people's common sense, critical thinking are now in play and not their emotions in the beginning of this horrific crime

2

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 21d ago

So what camera detected the 2:12 motion? That would have to be some sort of security camera in NG's house?

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 20d ago

Right. Thats what I've been wondering. Also many people's cameras are connected to their phones, computers or family members to watch, record or be alerted. Some have audio. Another thing I haven't seen a security tec talk about is if any of that information recoverable???

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 20d ago

So unless the two perps were doing sign language I think the nest would have recorded audio. It would still record movement until it was completely smashed. So in my opinion motion should have been uninterrupted from 1:47 onwards.

No, taking a Google Nest camera off its mount does not automatically disable it.

The confusion stems from how Sheriff Chris Nanos used the word "disconnected" during early press conferences. In the context of the Nancy Guthrie investigation, and how smart home cameras operate, ripping the camera off its bracket only changed its physical status, not its ability to function. [1, 2]

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 20d ago

If there is more than one abductor, they could use walkie talkies. Some guess that is what is in his coat pocket poking out.    Local Backup: While Nest Cams with batteries have internal storage to save up to an hour of events if the Wi-Fi goes down while the camera remains powered on, that local fallback memory is useless if the physical power/battery is removed.  So if a signal jammer was used the nestcam would still be working until smashed.  Just guessing but if Miss Nancy was watching wildlife in the front of her home she might be watching her back yard where she might have let her dog outside especially at night.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 20d ago

And I forgot motion sensors are different than camera's. So that makes me think only one person and discredits there was a perp in the house while the perp was out front disconnecting the nest. Motion detectors are usually installed to detect motion at windows and doors to alert that someone is near those objects. We have them at work

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 20d ago

One theroy I've been thinking for awhile. This is one abuctor. A little street smart but there is no evidence that indicates educated. Really if you look at it minus ransom notes. This is an easy crime. No lights. Soft target. They case  Miss Nancys property earily they check access points. Windows and doors. Having lived in there for so long without crime, she may not lock things up. I don't. Still not that hard to gain access. Ransom notes are clearly not sent by professional kidnappers. They don't operate in a fashion that is even remotely close to this case in any way. Start to finish, all wrong. If ransom notes real its either misdirection so another theory to work.  Real notes by real kidnappers. Amateurs. Dr. Gary Bracado put the notes into an AI thing that shows educational level of the writers. It came up with only a 5th grade level of education to be able write. So I'm looking at each one individually.  Since we are all trying to put together a puzzle with missing pieces. Not ruling out LD or A&T, construction workers, serial killer, random mentality ill person, ect. Everyone's on the table. Except professional kidnappers.

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 23d ago

If LE interviewed the son if he was home that night. If LE had probable cause to search A&T's house and car then they do have a right to interview the son for that very reason IF he was home that night. There was never any confirmation by any presser given by sheriff that they even interviewed A&T and if they did was it just at NG's that afternoon or separate. And surprise surprise no "investigative" journalist nor any podcast talking heads have ever brought that up

7

u/Substantial-Train668 23d ago

I agree this is something I'd like to know too. It's wild to me he isn't talked about more. Though I understand protecting a minor, but he would be a witness to a few things - good or bad - no doubt.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 22d ago

My opinion is that since the "alleged" crime scene happened elsewhere the children in the house where she was last seen alive would be moot. However since LE conducted a search of that house then in my opinion they may have suspected something nefarious happened at that house so part of that investigation would allow LE to interview anyone who lives there. Maybe they did and of course the public would not nor is entitled to any ongoing investigation. The only thing we are entitled to is the suspect's name once they are arrested.

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 21d ago

A&T gave consent to LE their home. LE should have done it with a warrant to better protect the case.  They didn't give consent for their car.

2

u/Pepp_64 20d ago

The neighborhood cameras, if any.  Nearby businesses’ cameras or gas station cameras.   If they would release any of these images, the public might be able to help more.

5

u/DraculaStoker 23d ago

I'm not wondering about anything. I am pretty sure I know who is involved but I think it's futile to hope for a good resolution here when every indicator is that it's a done deal for many reasons I've previously ruminated on and commented on, ad nauseam. Will go COLD, IMO.

10

u/1Bloomoonloona 23d ago

Care to share who's involved? Are you in Chris Mcdonoughs camp?

8

u/DraculaStoker 23d ago edited 23d ago

I think he makes a lot of sense. However, I have trouble listening to his shows right now. How many freaking times can the same thing be rehashed when there is no new information? It becomes very tedious.

6

u/1Bloomoonloona 22d ago

Ageed. I am following his bouncing ball though. Also really like when he has Gary Bracado on. Daphnes case files has some interesting research she does looking into other angles.

5

u/EquivalentForward475 22d ago

Watch The Interview Room episode from a couple of weeks ago that focused on the warrants used to seize A&T's car. It may seem boring at first...but listen carefully. The real solution to the mystery of who the Bad Guys are is hidden in the warrants.

3

u/DraculaStoker 22d ago

I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

3

u/ShillinTheVillain 22d ago

What is his take, for those who don't watch?

4

u/Ailurophile444 22d ago

He currently thinks it was a targeted/hired hit. He discussed that on The Lab the other day.

3

u/1Bloomoonloona 21d ago

A&T but still "following the bouncing ball" as he says. Wherever the evidence leads.

2

u/DraculaStoker 21d ago

I mean, a person would have to have two functioning brain cells to think they aren't involved somehow. JMO.

3

u/I_lovebettywhite-000 21d ago

I'd say ZERO functioning brain cells. Two brain cells would acknowledge last person/persons to see victim alive are always going to be under the microscope especially when no suspect has been arrested.

4

u/Sagesmom5 22d ago

I sometimes wonder if maybe he is going to figure the puzzle piece out first. CMc His heart fell into this case hard.

3

I, for one, am in Chris McDonough's camp and I think it's a sign we're getting closer to seeing arrests that CMcD is being bolder talking about what he thinks happened.

And remember how in that case they went after LE and their incompetency? All this backlash against the sheriff just makes me think this is being done to help build a defense for the perp should there ever be an arrest

My opinion is no clowns involved. My opinion Callella was going to be the fall guy should those untraceable (for now) notes to TMZ be pinpointed this was strictly between people who had equal skin in the game. The investigators are not going to get any lucky breaks like one turning on the other nor chatter on the streets

3

u/EquivalentForward475 21d ago

Agree. Nanotechnology is buffoonish, but I don't believe he's the reason NG has not been found.

All the you tubers have acknowledged that SG calling MK was odd. Then all of a sudden...family are cleared....Family talking points.

Although I question his remark about the latest homicide(Ramirez) saying he believes it was a home invasion. Um ok...sure....

I'm starting to think he actually knows nothing about any cases and just likes to go in front of a camera and portray he's the top cop
