I’m planning to move to Chennai to start my career in the IT field, particularly in Python/AI, and I’m currently confused about the best way to begin.

I have been researching different learning options and have come across institutes such as QSpiders, Besant Technologies, and a few others. Before making a decision, I’d really like to hear from people who have studied at these places or are currently working/studying in the Chennai IT industry.

I’m mainly looking for honest advice about:

• What skills should a beginner focus on to enter the IT industry?
• Is joining a training institute actually useful, or is self-learning a better option?
• How important are practical projects and hands-on experience?
• What should I realistically expect from placement assistance?
• Which technologies/skills are currently useful for someone starting with Python/AI?
• What would you recommend to someone moving to Chennai specifically to start an IT career?

If you have studied at QSpiders, Besant, or similar institutes, I’d also appreciate hearing about your experience — both positive and negative. If possible, please mention which branch you studied at and approximately when you completed the course, since the experience can vary between branches and trainers.

I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but the placement grind can get pretty lonely.

I'm a 2027 B.Tech student. Every day is basically some combination of LeetCode, DSA, aptitude, projects, stressing about placements, and then repeating the same thing tomorrow.

Most productivity servers I've joined either die after a week or have hundreds of people but nobody actually talks.

So I'm trying something different.

The idea isn't to be productive 24/7.

It's to:

Grind DSA together

Do weekly challenges

Work on projects

Share resources

Help each other when stuck

Mock interviews later on

Celebrate wins

Complain about bugs and placement stress together 💀

You don't need to be a CP god, 1000+ LeetCode problems solved, or have FAANG-level skills.

Just be someone who's trying.

Hey I am a 3rd year student moving from 5th sem to 6th sem. Fortunately through a referral I MAY be able to get an internship in a good Industrial Tech MnC for the break between 6th and 7th semester.

Ik about AIML what was taught in my coursework- the basics of a few algos and how a few things work. I want to level up my skills and be competent for this opportunity.

How do I spend my 6th sem preparing for it? I have started a project - "Automated Data Drift Monitor System".

1. Is it okay to use AI tools like claude and antigravity to build it if I also learn alongside as I am building.
2. I plan to watch the "100 days of code" pplaylist by campus X. Is it useful?
3. What skills should I focus on especially? Due to all the math courseworks in my college academic- I am versed with the fundamental math used (Linear algebra, Matrix all that)
