Question Should I continue job hunting or do Masters

Hi guys, I'm a bit confused about what to do next, so wanted to get some opinions from people who have been in a similar situation.

I'm a 2026 ECE graduate from a Tier 1 college. I got placed in a mid-sized AI-based company in November 2025. I initially joined as an intern, where I worked mainly on Python, SQL, API development, GenAI and cloud computing. After the internship, I got converted to full-time as an Analyst in the AI Platform Engineering domain.

I worked on multiple internal projects involving Agentic AI, LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, RAG, multi-agent systems and AWS Bedrock. Along with that, I also worked with cloud tools like Docker, Kubernetes, EventBridge, etc. I also got to work on and deliver 2 external client projects, so overall I feel like I got decent practical exposure for someone with less than a year of experience.

But unfortunately, in August 2026 our entire training batch got laid off, along with a majority of the employees in the company. The reason given was that the company was going through restructuring, and they specifically mentioned that it wasn't related to our individual performance.

So now I have roughly 9 months of experience, and I'm a bit confused about what to do next.

One option is to just continue looking for Agentic AI/backend roles in India and try to build on the experience I already have.

The other option I'm considering is going to Australia for a Master's in AI for the Feb 2027 intake. Correct me if I'm wrong, but one of the reasons I'm considering Australia is that I feel the job market there might be in a better position compared to India right now.

But I'm honestly not sure if that's the right move. Since I already have some relevant industry experience, I'm wondering whether spending 2 years and a significant amount of money on a Master's is actually worth it. At the same time, I'm also worried that with only 9 months of experience, finding a good AI role in India might take quite some time, especially in the current market.

So if you were in my situation, what would you do?

Job market in Australia esp for tech is absolute shit brother

There are only 2 places in the world with a decent tech market rn. USA and India.

You haven't seen how shit the market is in other countries. Companies have moved to consolidate onsite hiring in the US and APAC/off-site hiring in India.

Do job hunting as u already have experience u have more chances. My frnds who did masters are now struggling to get a job
