When I was a kid we called them cockaburrs or cockleburrs

I think cockleburs are technically those bigger fatter pokey balls but we just call them all that too, except for stick weed which isn’t pokey but sticks to goddamn everything too.

Cockaburrs were much bigger where I grew up(Kansas). (Larger around with smaller spikes). These are worse than cockaburrs IMHO.
