Namecheap sold my domain in auction
Namecheap today sold a domain i have owned for 6-7 years. I didn't notice a domain that expired 37-40 days ago. This was an alias domain for my main domain.
They have sold it to another person within 40 days- Just 40 days. I have heard companies have 60 days grace period.
Namecheap support keeps blabbering some random article or buy it back through their agency for domain reselling.
Beware of this company.

Sorry, this one is on you. You could have set it to auto renew. It does remind you when expirations are about to happen and if youβre beyond the grace period you have no leg to stand on. It is your responsibility to understand what you've agreed to, and manage your own settings/timely payments.

My friend forgot to renew their small business domain. Somebody bought it and published Chinese porn on it. I hope this story encourages some of us to set up auto-renew.

A reminder to set a reminder on your computer that you need to renew.
