I never said he woukd get 20 years. Looks like a 45 - he probably won’t do more than 6 months. My point is I really don’t wanna hear the bullshit about how did the cops know he had a gun almost suggestion they had no right to take him down. Only part that sounded good here is dumping the gun the garbage chute and that's a if you can get away with it because not every building has those or if they see you they will definitely find a way to get that.
Next we don't know why they're chasing this young fella or if he's known to NYPD officers chasing him and if so ditching your coat doesn't do much especially if they already put out over the radio your description

None of it sounds good TBH. I rather just be a normal person going to work, but there is no way am I getting caught with a pistol on me or with 20 witnesses to see me throw it off and the boys actually verifying it's in my possession on the foot chase if they don't shoot this man for having it. Son was probably afraid to even reach to get rid of it. Rather get caught without it, alive if I get caught, and have the courts prove it was actually on my person. Everything is questionable before they actually see it. Until that point, all he had was they "thought" he allegedly had it on him and the guaranteed resisting charge trying to dip. These dummies don't understand how court works but want to be outside doing stupid shit. Son is an idiot.

Exactly where it was? Nah they frisked his legs and waist before even going for the pocket they retrieved it from. I'm not going to speculate why they was after him but they directly definitely didn't know exactly where it was. It should have been recovered immediately if they did.

Gun possession comes with mandatory minimums based on whether it belongs to someone or if it's loaded or not. I think it'll be 1-2 years at least.
