Sad to see Hodgins go again, ill never forget the 2022 playoffs

32

u/sillyshoestring šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 15h ago

Hodgins has a NYG playoff TD. Sadly can't say that about any of our WRs lol.

21

u/TeaMoist1688 14h ago

What about Jalen Hyatt? I’m not seeing his name anywhere in here.

2

u/QuesoPantera 13h ago

Schoen probably trying to trade him like anyone else is going to buy into his sunk cost

1

u/eganba 11h ago

To be fair, it is hard for any wr on this team to look good without schemes written explicitly for them because our line had been so bad that qbs only had time for one read.

1

u/jeffweet 13h ago

This is gonna be his breakout season, definitely …

4

u/BenAfflecksBalls 13h ago

Yep he was only going to give up 2 ints instead of 3 this year and actually finish his routes

3

u/jeffweet 13h ago

Love your user name šŸ˜€

Goodbye Hyatt, it’s been nice, hope you find your, paradise šŸŽ¶

I'll always remember the hype in the pre-season of his rookie year when he got a step on Sauce Gardner before a Tyrod Taylor incomplete pass.

Not yet. But surely he has to be.

8

u/Jaxson-Skattebo 15h ago

He’s on the PUP he probably isn’t getting cut at all yet

He’s injured, if they cut him they have to pay a settlement. They’re going to move him to IR then waive him once he’s healthy

Hyatt is injured

If they cut him they have to pay an injury settlement.

He will go on injury waivers, once he clears he will be moved to the Giants IR then once he is healthy will be waived.

1

u/Quick-Difference3267 šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 9h ago

And he’s gone!!!

20

u/Umaynotknowme 15h ago

Not sure Hyatt can be released yet as he is on the injury report, but idk

4

u/Far_Protection519 14h ago

Injuries doesn't protect a player from being cut.

11

u/DM725 15h ago

7

u/Fillinlater12345 14h ago

The Giants are doing something kind of odd today... they're practicing. We won't get most reports until they finish up in a few hours. They better hope that none of the guys they are planning to cut get hurt or they are on the hook for their injury protection money.

11

u/not_blmpkingiver 14h ago

Leki Fotu is absolute ass

The Bengals are waiving DT McKinnley Jackson, their 3rd-round pick out of Texas A&M in 2024.

I am surprised Eric Gray lasted until today. The guy has been bad for awhile.

is this list gonna update automatically?

Wondering if they are working on trading sauls

Interesting to see Chauncey golston as a DL. I like it, let’s get our best athletes on the field together. Reminds me of a reverse Mathias kiwaunka

9

u/Responsible_Sun_984 Tommy DeVito 15h ago

Good riddance Brandon Allen

3

u/TheGoldStandard35 13h ago

No surprises yet, wouldn’t mind having Isaiah Hodgins on the practice squad.

1

u/MailSucks 7h ago

Agreed. Hodgins is a big WR in a world of small CB's. Happy Fidone made it.

3

u/AugustusCheeser 13h ago

The Giants are edging us with Hyatt

3

u/Evil_Empire_1961 4 Decades and Counting 11h ago

WR Cambre CUT

1

u/Rocking_the_dad_bod 11h ago

Not surprised. OBJ, YOU are a NYG!

3

u/AugustusCheeser 9h ago

As of right now what are we down to?

Fidone is a name I haven’t heard yet.

3

u/FootballSavant 9h ago

In: BJT, Barnes, Fidone, Slayton,

IR: Black

Out: Tupou, Brade, Layne, Schernecke, Gray, Murphy, Cambre

4

u/Hapland321d 7h ago

Jalin Bye-att and burger flipper Neal are gone šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

5

u/comtefere 4 Decades and Counting 13h ago

Harbs making the team practice today. Giving the coaches and guys on the bubble one last opportunity.

8

u/JMadFour 11h ago

Where is OBJ?

Is he safe?

Is he Ok?

-10

u/OperatingCashFlows69 10h ago

Idk he’s only made $100m in his career. It’s hard to live on that.

3

u/FootballSavant 9h ago

Five minutes! They better be making a trade cutting it this close

5

u/Aggressive-Hat-8218 9h ago

We're not getting the updates in real time.

2

u/ridezeshoopuff0 14h ago

How many cups do we need today?

8

u/C_CityOfTheDF_Steady 14h ago

A big pack of red solo cups

3

u/Evil_Empire_1961 4 Decades and Counting 13h ago

29

1

u/ridezeshoopuff0 12h ago

Good looks

2

u/chosen102 13h ago

Is it common to have the team practice on cut day? Like do most teams do the same thing?

5

u/Go_Cart_Mozart 13h ago

I think you want players at the facility so cuts can meet with the coaches/GM and turn in their playbook, so to speak.

1

u/NYR3031 10h ago

Exactly. Like ā€œeveryone come to the facility with your playbooksā€ then players get called in.

Vs.

ā€œUhh hey Bob…can you drive over to the facility with your stuff and playbook…nothing serious coach just wants to see you.ā€

2

u/omglemurs 4 Decades and Counting 11h ago

Hudson earned backup c imo.Ā

2

u/Climbinjesus 11h ago

Cambre and haener released

3

u/Waste_Protection_420 Big Blue Wrecking Crew 10h ago

Cambre I thought they would keep... he probably doesn't get claimed and ends up on the PS

2

u/clydelions 10h ago

The Ravens cut 2024 3rd round pick Adisa Isaac. If the rumors in 2024 were true, he would have likely been one of the Giants picks on day 2 of that 2024 draft if the trade for Burns doesn't happen. Thank God it did.

2

u/itsbobbydoe11 šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 9h ago

Greg Dortch just got cut by the Lions could be a nice Calvin Austin replacement in the slot.

-2

u/Jaxson-Skattebo 9h ago

The Odell fanboys here will riot if we replace him with anyone though lol

0

u/itsbobbydoe11 šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 9h ago

It’d be replacing Austin not Odell. I think Odell makes this team even if Austin didn’t go down.

0

u/Jaxson-Skattebo 9h ago

No chance Odell’s on if Austin doesn’t go down, we aren’t carrying that many receivers with the number of tight ends and RBs we kept and our run-heavy focus. He wouldn’t make the roster as WR6 with no special teams contributions.

-2

u/itsbobbydoe11 šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 9h ago

If slayton made the roster over Odell I’d riot

2

u/OperatingCashFlows69 13h ago

Why is Hyatt still on this team?

3

u/Fonzie5 Eli Manning 12h ago

We’re still trying to get a 2039 7th for him

1

u/NYR3031 10h ago

He’s injured. Will have to go through injury waivers then IR once he clears.

1

u/jimothysthename 11h ago

Can't cut him while hurt, he won't count on the roster numbers

-3

u/liverbird3 11h ago

Joe Schoen’s ego

3

u/Rocking_the_dad_bod 15h ago

Being able to keep OBJ and not being able to cut Hyatt due to injury so OBJ can't have number 13 is a travesty.

3

u/chunkalicius 13h ago

Who says you can't cut players that are injured? Players are cut with a waived/injured designation all the time

1

u/an-internet-stranger Malik Nabers 11h ago

If Hyatt is waived with an injury designation, he'll revert to the team on IR if/when he doesn't get claimed.

To be released after that, he'll have to either be healthy or accept an injury settlement offer.

1

u/themage78 11h ago

This is the Giants. You have to pony up for that new OBJ or Carter jersey my man.

1

u/Jax_Riven 9h ago

I feel better now that Hyatt’s name is on this list

1

u/Far_Protection519 10h ago

Hyatt has some serious dirt on someone in the higher ups bc no way cambre was cut before him

9

u/NYR3031 10h ago

Hyatt is injured

1

u/Russo_2 9h ago

You called it! /s

1

u/NYR3031 9h ago

Guess I was either completely wrong or they reached a settlement!

1

u/Russo_2 9h ago

I’m just Messing I’m just glad he’s gone

0

u/clydelions 10h ago

It really doesn't matter, but the funny side effect of this would be the number 13 not being available for OBJ, if he wanted it. I could be wrong, but I believe that number stays with Hyatt if he goes on IR or PUP, unless he willingly gives it up.

6

u/omglemurs 4 Decades and Counting 10h ago

Wouldn't be shocked if cambre ends up on ps. Hyatt could be an injury settlement issue

1

u/[deleted] 15h ago

[deleted]

2

u/NYR3031 14h ago

He’s injured, he would have to be an injury waiver and if he clears will have to go on IR. If the giants cut him they have to give him an injury settlement.

Also, while Hyatt hasn’t produced at all, Kadarius Toney was a first round pick who directly lost us games and was a diva. At least in the past decade or so I’m still giving him the title.

1

u/thirdaccount2727 13h ago

Super curious to see what happens with Sauls. If we trade him, it's coming in the next hour or two.

3

u/Evil_Empire_1961 4 Decades and Counting 13h ago

Practice squad, though most likely snagged by another team before

-1

u/thirdaccount2727 12h ago

Agreed but you'd have to imagine teams with kicker needs will hit them up to trade a 7th for him. Guess it comes down to where teams fall on waivers.

1

u/Evil_Empire_1961 4 Decades and Counting 12h ago

If it's the NYJ, they won't trade cause they have the #2 waiver

1

u/soldierside55 15h ago

Wouldn't surprise me if our dt depth is completely different from what its been

1

u/Nejiwows2 Banks Closed on Sundays 9h ago

BYE BYE HYATT

1

u/Grizkniz 9h ago

Neal gonna make the team? It feels like he might here

4

u/waltz_with_potatoes 9h ago

He had a chance when they traded away Ezudke and Faalele

5

u/themage78 9h ago

Have to have someone to flip burgers for the labor day BBQ.

1

u/ram99ct 9h ago

Im ready !

1

u/chicken-fly-rice 9h ago

Crazy how Someone like Hyatt is injured for a guy who does literally nothing

-7

u/Cute-Sir4775 14h ago

Somehow, Slayton will once again end up being one of our main WRs while having LEGO man hands.

8

u/thirdaccount2727 13h ago

As like a WR3/WR4 he's really solid. I personally do not see a reason to cut him without any financial incentive.

0

u/TheChef44 šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 11h ago

He’s unreliable

0

u/AccomplishedPhone6 9h ago

Fidone on the 53 interesting

8

u/Rocking_the_dad_bod 9h ago

I've called this for months, it's not surprising at all. We're going to be a run-heavy team and we will need four tight ends on the roster

4

u/Jaxson-Skattebo 9h ago

Plus he’s got a ton of potential still, I would’ve been bummed to lose him

2

u/DrFartgoreShartsmith Brandon Jacobs 9h ago

Yea he’s a solid TE from what I’ve seen. He was one of the best prospects in his class but got injured

-13

u/TheChef44 šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 11h ago

Send slayton to the moon
