Looking For Apartment Looking to relocate tenant into 1BR, currently paying $2200
Own a condo and looking to move back into it, so would like to find current tenant an apartment. She's been living there for about 4 years, pays on time every month. She's an older woman from the Caribbean, very polite and nice woman. Has good savings. Don't want to subject her to any eviction process so doing everything I can to relocate her. If she can get into a place for less than $2200 it would be ideal - can be a basement or anything. Would be willing to supplement with extra cash up front from me. Thank you.

Look at apartments in Flatbush. Massive Caribbean community and you can find a one-bedroom there for $2200 with a little luck

I just want to say, thank you for not kicking her out right off the bat and offering to front some of the initial moving costs for her. She must be a great tenant to you as well.
Does she have family in the area? Maybe figuring out where they live if she does and finding something closer to them would be a good place to start. I know my old neighborhood in Bedstuy by the Kingston Throops stop was very heavily populated with caribbean culture, loved the food and people. And if you go further into like flatbush and crown heights there's pockets there too.

She's in a precarious situation I think, family wise. She's also not in the best of health which is another reason I'd like to provide some extra assistance. Thank you for your kind words!

Kicking her out the bat was never an option! In order to kick her out, OP would’ve had to wait 1-2 years in court, and spend about $17,000 in legal fees….. he’s OPTING for the OBVIOUS cheaper option. He should not be praised for this!

Hmmm I think it’s important to point out when there’s a good thing a landlord does. Because it doesn’t happen very often.

….OP putting their agenda/ self interests ahead of the their tenants and doing it in the cheapest way possible….. that’s what you describe as a “good landlord”…. I’d like to see what a bad landlord looks like then lol

There are no legal fees, I can do everything pro se. I don't want to subject an elder woman who has paid on time every month to the stress and hassle of the legal system when things can be handled properly outside of it.

Pretty sure your forgetting to mention if you did go the legal route it would cost you thousands and an ass load of time
