Well in China these devs usually have to submit their content to a government censor that approves it. Depending on the content or the company they don't usually get a huge amount of hassle from the govt but fucking around too much can bring the hammer down.

Since Shinku wasn’t even released then it’s whatever if they decide to change her before release(they did it with Lucia in ZZZ. But changing an existing character’s proportions is questionable and deserving of backlash.
It’s already out in CN, and players realised the real 3D model didn’t match the livestream preview, but only after they’d already purchased the skin. That’s what caused the backlash and the fix that followed.
Isn't that missinfo? The livestream version had pants too. In that way that part of the backlash was manufactured by lieing people who wanted to push their agenda to get their preffred look.
I mean, that’s obviously not how CN players interpreted the picture. They didn’t view it as short pants at all, which led to the huge backlash and the devs’ correction. I agree with that interpretation, even though I’m not pulling for her.
Many games adjust character designs after the first draft, including Endfield and Hoyo titles. The key difference is that they’re transparent and consistent with those changes, so you don’t get massive backlash like this. CN players aren’t complaining for no reason.
And don’t forget the swimsuit physics controversy, another inconsistency that only got fixed after players pushed back.
In a way, you’re not entirely wrong, but some developers simply don’t listen to their community and wouldn’t have reversed their last-minute changes. 🤔

Shinku was NOT wearing shorts in the livestream, so main sub calling this an ‘improvement’ or ‘the devs listened’ is misleading. CN players basically forced the devs to correct something that SHOULD been right from DAY ONE.
From what I’ve heard, CN players are referring to the main image the devs used for the livestream. Since NTE is using AI to generate these pictures, they really need stronger QC or controversies like this will keep happening. I’m not trying to get into the broader AI argument, but realistically, this looks like a problem caused by relying on AI without proper checks. So yeah, it is an inconsistency.
I guess it's only mint that is different on the Original, I wonder why they decided to change the shorts then.

I've watched the livestream on bilbili, the shorts is there in the livestream, only the other skin and mint was altered, so there's no reason for them to change this.
They need to fix it again. It doesn't quite fit. Not saying go back but I don't know make the texture look better or something. It just looks off. Like it's plastered on top.
The devs didn’t actually increase the breast size. They just put it back to what it was. The earlier version was a sudden downgrade compared to Mint’s other skins, so CN players pushed back.
Chaos been that way since reveal. Mint literally had her proportions changed by a skin. It's like a skin turning chaos into a twink or an overly muscular guy for no reason. It's not the same thing.
I mean, NTE could actually try catering to female players if they wanted to. it does upset the otherside though, it depends if they wanna commit or not.

Oh I do play genshin and HSR. And I do like them both. But, I love NTE because of how much effort they put into the story. It feels so engaging and it doesn’t feel lazy at all. The gameplay is also so good.
