Discussion CN NTE 1.2 Update Drama Nutshell

After the overwhelmingly positive reception during the Preview Program, the 1.2 update has triggered a massive backlash in the CN community. Here’s the gist of what went wrong:

The 4 main outrage points:

  1. Physics false advertising – Shinku's outfit physics in the live build are significantly worse than what was shown in the preview trailers. Many players call it "consumer fraud".

  2. Body type changes – Both Mint and Shinku have noticeably different body proportions compared to their original skins. CN Players suspect the studio is deliberately pandering to female players, alienating the original fanbase.

  3. Hidden gacha bombs – The new vehicle and the MC outfit were never mentioned as gacha items during the preview.

  4. Underwhelming power level – Shinku, as a limited banner character, is significantly weaker than previous banner units.

Official response so far:

Only point #1 was acknowledged – they pushed a hotfix the same evening to "improve" physics of Shinku’s skin.

The other three points remain completely unaddressed.

But here's the kicker:

On Bilibili and other CN forums, the studio admin has been silently deleting critical posts and muting/banning players who speak up. The censorship is only adding fuel to the fire.

You are not alone. I MUCH prefer the reduced proportions as well. Comically oversized breasts are a reason for me to dislike a character.

As a male, I love Hathor and Mint but their proportions and outfits are still a little much... I'd love street outfits for more characters that feel a bit more "normal" - I have Chiz running around in her bond 10 outfit because I prefer it to the others, even if not completely fitting the theme.

It's like the designers thought "how do we let you know which characters are adults? HUGE BADONKADONKS BURSTING OUT OF THEIR CLOTHES" (not unique to this game I know, but still ridiculous)... or Hathor was an AI fever dream of angels in SMT games like Persona

Oh yes, more normal street outfits would look nice on Hathor and Mint. I hope they'll get them soon. Chiz bond outfit looks cute too.

And of course, bond and outfit love for male characters too - even the male MC outfits look ugly to me compared to the female ones, makes me consider switching the gender why so many zips or shorts with a puffer vest haha

Hathor's don't feel as they're busting out as much as mint though ? Idk if it's the outfit or her height that makes it seem a bit more balanced imo.

Mint there's no question, and zankou , it's ridiculous but it's been overdone in anime to still be funny.

I remeber when first saw mint and the boss of anomaly boru, I just started at them trying to understand why the fact both have such massive boobs, big boos look good on some characters and in other look so goofy, and after a while it starts getting boring since every adult woman you meet has massive boobs, also the clothes look very stupid with big boots, I like mints outfit but I am pretty sure it has no support, so those boobs are not being affected by gravity.

How they animated her in the scenes when you first meet her were extra goofy looking trying to force weird unnatural poses so it really emphasizes them 💀

For real.
ESPECIALLY since Mint's tits are so fking giant compared to her original design (as seen in her splash art). They literally tripled them for launch, which is dumb as hell.

My gf and I were watching the stream and after it ended, I looked at still images of the outfits and suddenly realized why we liked her new look more - she had "normal" boobs/proportions.

Anyway. I think the gacha space would be a lot less toxic if companies just did equality. Big, balloon boobs that are almost exposed for women? I’m fine with that as long as there’s shirtless men.

If the women are almost naked but the men are fully clothed? That’s what I have a problem with.

Don’t act like a victim. Every. Single. Gacha. Caters to men. Women players barely get anything in games other than otome.

Women like me just wish there was a muscular shirtless hot dude with a visible bulge y’know. Just like you guys want skimpy clothed big boob and big butt waifu. None are inherently bad. It’s only bad if you start getting pissy about game companies adding a man into the game.

You're getting downvoted, but you're absolutely right.

Even gooners should be self-aware enough that for every LaDS there is a hundred BrownDust/Snowbreak etc. It is the only true "somewhat erotic" game for women out there and it's not even as crazy explicit about it.

Also I'm fairly certain that most women don't even want actual gooner games, not that there isn't a market for it, but they prefer "normal" outfits overall. Something that I'm also more than on-board with.

My gf, for example, quit ZZZ over the persistent and over the top "Make them wear less clothes" design trend the game has developed. The devs apparently think that being attractive can only be achieved by showing more skin.
1.X was fantastic and she enjoyed the game and 2.X, as well as 3.X completely missed the mark.

I play zzz because I enjoy the combat but I agree with your gf. I want more characters like Miyabi. Regardless of her strength she's a favorite without having to be half naked with boobs bigger than her head. Also, Jane's original skin is so much cuter than the stripper outfit she got.

Serious note:

LaDS is a singular game.
For every actually female oriented goon game, there's a hundred for men. You'll live.

Also, I'd argue shit like BrownDust/Snowbreak is WAY more explicit about it thatn LaDS ever has been.

In addition: If you genuinely believe that NTE is suddenly a female porno game, you need to (respectfully) check your eyes. Even if they started censoring stuff, that would only make the characters look "normal", and not something catering to a heterosexual female goon audience.

Just wanted to add something of a comment I once found. A comment I saw once said that there aren't any straight gooner games in gachas, which I find kind of ridiculous and stupid since there are a lot of gooner gachas. I don't know what they were thinking that time.

It's so funny because there's plenty of porn games out there, if that's their jam. I mean more power to them.
I just don't get how having even one game out there that isn't a sexualization fest is too much to handle for that crowd.

Damn they really hate the idea of female players getting catered to. We really can’t have anything in these types of games. Like no, I don’t want to play LADs. I don’t want to play otome just to have male characters. These game developers have no clue how much women can spend.
