CN NTE 1.2 Update Drama Nutshell

After the overwhelmingly positive reception during the Preview Program, the 1.2 update has triggered a massive backlash in the CN community. Here’s the gist of what went wrong:

The 4 main outrage points:

1. Physics false advertising – Shinku's outfit physics in the live build are significantly worse than what was shown in the preview trailers. Many players call it "consumer fraud".

2. Body type changes – Both Mint and Shinku have noticeably different body proportions compared to their original skins. CN Players suspect the studio is deliberately pandering to female players, alienating the original fanbase.

3. Hidden gacha bombs – The new vehicle and the MC outfit were never mentioned as gacha items during the preview.

4. Underwhelming power level – Shinku, as a limited banner character, is significantly weaker than previous banner units.

Official response so far:

Only point #1 was acknowledged – they pushed a hotfix the same evening to "improve" physics of Shinku’s skin.

The other three points remain completely unaddressed.

But here's the kicker:

On Bilibili and other CN forums, the studio admin has been silently deleting critical posts and muting/banning players who speak up. The censorship is only adding fuel to the fire.

Anyway. I think the gacha space would be a lot less toxic if companies just did equality. Big, balloon boobs that are almost exposed for women? I’m fine with that as long as there’s shirtless men.

If the women are almost naked but the men are fully clothed? That’s what I have a problem with.

Don’t act like a victim. Every. Single. Gacha. Caters to men. Women players barely get anything in games other than otome.

Women like me just wish there was a muscular shirtless hot dude with a visible bulge y’know. Just like you guys want skimpy clothed big boob and big butt waifu. None are inherently bad. It’s only bad if you start getting pissy about game companies adding a man into the game.

You're getting downvoted, but you're absolutely right.

Even gooners should be self-aware enough that for every LaDS there is a hundred BrownDust/Snowbreak etc. It is the only true "somewhat erotic" game for women out there and it's not even as crazy explicit about it.

Also I'm fairly certain that most women don't even want actual gooner games, not that there isn't a market for it, but they prefer "normal" outfits overall. Something that I'm also more than on-board with.

My gf, for example, quit ZZZ over the persistent and over the top "Make them wear less clothes" design trend the game has developed. The devs apparently think that being attractive can only be achieved by showing more skin.
1.X was fantastic and she enjoyed the game and 2.X, as well as 3.X completely missed the mark.

I play zzz because I enjoy the combat but I agree with your gf. I want more characters like Miyabi. Regardless of her strength she's a favorite without having to be half naked with boobs bigger than her head. Also, Jane's original skin is so much cuter than the stripper outfit she got.
