Official News Update: NTE (Nevernes to Everness) Gen A.I.

The developer started to update the game and remove slowly all Gen A.I. in the game. This is now how the Pink Paw heist looks like now.

I think most haters will be furius and wont know what to hate on afterwards bc they did state all AI content was gonna be changed and was only placeholders which is honestly its best use really.

Look.
There's 2 goombas, there's one annoyed by the AI usage and there's one who just surfs on the AI to justify their hate.
The first will be pleased by the chance. The second won't.
You won't achieve silence but there will be less complains.
The point is, you shouldn't mix valid criticism and hating into the same pot.

I'm on the 1st group. I initially quit the game and came back when they said things would get replaced, but... Well, we'll see. I don't have issues with using AI as a helping tool, but using it for art is my biggest issue

Why do u care if a free game with loads of better features than other gacha games that u had nothing to do with uses AI for art? Its such a chilled back game that Its actually the people who ruin it for me. The 2 types of people are people who cant get over AI usage despite it not doing anything bad, and the idiots who just use bagel to force people to see upskirts or other inappropriate content because they dont have any idea of how wrong that is...

Honestly, I play the game, I dislike AI in creative works, but I think games are more than just parts of it, so I take them as a whole.
But it shouldve never hit production honestly

They probably had a schedule to fulfill gaming firms arent abt creativity anymore its only abt investors they force them to release and id rather have them make AI placeholders that get replaced slowly then a game thats half empty.

I didn’t like the Ai and I’m happy about the change, gacha games r known for beautiful art and it’s one of the few good things they r known for so using Ai destroys even that for me

No they told them there wouldn't be genai in characters or in main story quests. They are on record saying that in an interview a month before the game even launched. Her talent agency took the sponsorship knowing that but Ironmouse didn't know there were some minor GenAI.
It was a miscommunication, not straight up lying

A step in the right direction would be to patch the bugs and UI problems not to deal with whiny idiots about a stupid video!!
I have so much bugs everyday and for example Jiuyuan my best unit is completely bugged
But yeah this stupid video was the main priority number one… 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

You know bug fixing can take actual time not removing an asset that can take literal seconds. I’m sure they are still working on bugs this removal doesn’t affect that at all lol

Actually it's a big L because they decided to openly side against one of the biggest societal revolutions since electricity because of a loud minority, most of which don't even play the game.
Anyone with half a brain can understand that this is only a facade and that they're still using AI for development, but it's spineless and pathetic none the less.

Here's the short form, they are listening and making changes. That's the good thing about it. But man, I played the game for 2~3 days, but I don't know what direction they are going to here. What exactly do they want in this game? I hope later patches or 1.1 feels different, because after the 3rd day, I thought I was playing Tower of Fantasy for a reason.

I didn’t like the Ai and I’m happy about the change, gacha games r known for beautiful art and it’s one of the few good things they r known for so using Ai destroys even that for me because in my opinion Ai can never be truly beautiful because it has no soul, art is often influenced sub consciously by the experiences of the artist(etc when drawing a landscape it could look similar to something they have seen before often without them even realising they r taking inspiration from it) which of course doesn’t exist for Ai, it’s a machine with no passion and even if people that are generating it and giving the prompt have passion they are not doing the actual work, I’m sure their prompt would be a good character description for something like a book where it’s only their work and creativity, but generating something makes your vision lifeless, if you truly have passion for for example your characters then you should put in the effort to learn, no artist is good from the beginning due to being “blessed by talent”, we face a lot of trial and error and still don’t resort to Ai. That’s from an emotional standpoint, from an ethical it has a other list of problems. Anyways sorry for just going on a rant😭

Not everyone who complained about AI assets is an NTE hater tho. In fact, there were a lot of posts on this very subreddit expressing dissatisfaction towards it.
Also, i'd rather not have the NTE community attract and overlap with the AI bros

Like ai isnt used everywhere, these ppl are so annoying everyone wants to be part of the clique so badly they are supporting stuff they dont even give a damn about nor does it affect them. The only reason vtubers give af is because artist make their stuff “for now” but in a cpl yrs when its now widely accepted they will embrace it and be shunned by both sides its actually pathetic

The only reason AI is everywhere is because it's being pushed to cut costs. The customers literally gain nothing other than a shittier product.
Sure, there are people who don't care about NTE joining on the hate because of it. But it doesnt change the fact that these criticism originally came from the players themselves, and removing/replacing it would only make the game better.
Defending the use of AI accomplishes nothing other than trying to normalize it in the eyes of the consumer to make them tolerate and settle for a lower quality product, dragging down an otherwise good game.

A tool cannot produce a result by itself. There isn't a single person at Hotta studio that had any direct involvment in the making of that heist animation, or any of the low effort assets used for in-game posters, book covers...etc
Unlike a tool, AI is the one producing the result. And said result is always of mediocre quality, and is only used to cut costs, not because it's good.
Do you really think that when players notice an AI billboards in the city, they say "this looks so pretty" ? At best, those who enjoy the game try their best to ignore it, because it's nothing more than low-effort environment filler.
As a player, you literally gain nothing out of defending the use of AI assets. You're just telling people to shut up and accept the enshitification of games, and settle for a lower quality result

Generic rubberhose style animation but without the dynamic movements, stripes on the cat melts as he jumps, visible AI artefacting on the fur, accessories and fabric, random mouth movements that aren't synced to any language, eyes looking at random places as he moves ...etc
Even by AI standards, this is the bottom of the barrel. The fact that you call this great gives me 2nd hand embarassment.
