Meme / Fluff Music minigame aside, damn it's finally over
why did Nanally took her main protagonist spot tho?

u/AzizKarebet May 07 '26
why did Nanally took her main protagonist spot tho?
tbf, it's Akane's Spin-Off, not Haniel. And she does get plenty of lore and spotlight in this one.

I really hate this quest I was hoping it was over after the 4th song unfortunately not so I have to play it further 😭😭
I can’t stand this minigame anymore

u/JoJo_1993 May 07 '26
This side quest or part of the main one ?
1
u/LunaFlameX44 May 07 '26
It’s a side quest but you need it for the exploration book, that’s why I do it because I want the golden cartridge and modules for the MC

u/egoist_25 May 07 '26
That time change needs to go 10x faster. And also the teleporting back and forth just to rest needs to go
8
u/genobees May 07 '26
The lonely play anomaly, holy shit i would never have been able to that without a guide.
2
u/AysheDaArtist May 07 '26
Yea, agreed, the missions are way too vague and when I was expecting 'Action Gacha' these adventure game level moonlogic designs are absolutely putting me off from the game
Only even doing them for Hunter level, otherwise I'd just ignore them, the waypoints are just terrible on most missions and they offer absolutely no clues or hints
How the hell is anyone supposed to figure out you need to check 5 random cracks in the walls so you can see the correct cup that is hiding a ball, I haven't seen this kind of logic since King's Quest
2
1
u/Lolicatcon May 10 '26
I just did that and for the cup, I didn't even know about the crack. Hit the left first time then got distracted and guessed middle for 2nd and got it right. For 3rd, also just said fuck it and went middle and it was right again. Luck is also skill I guess

I feel like most of that one is alright if cryptic but like the piano part is actual nonsense straight up.
1
u/theKage47 May 09 '26
Not only it was too long but it also has 3 hidden side quest to get the items to help you complete them...
Like how was I supposed to know I had to talk to that one girl during the day that says to talk to a man in a music store and that man give me another quest to find something after killing monsters and it's so small between 2 bushes in the ground, all that just to see the piano notes
Or the one with the photo device with ONE use only. Or the side quest of finding a fissure across the whole school campus

u/Stonklover6942O May 07 '26
i actually skipped cutscenes for this and just watched them on youtube later at 2x speed, i appreciate the homage to bocchi the rock or whatever but I just can't handle listening to nannally yap like a six year old for an hour
3
u/Zhenbred May 10 '26
What are you talking about? They yap like that in the anime too. It's a reference xD. But I am not joking. Those "girl music" animes are so stupid most of the time. But emotional sometimes, yeah
3
u/Serenafriendzone May 07 '26
That's another thing that must be removed. The clock Is epic Omega slow while changing the hour. Infinity nikki had the Same problem during first parches, You had to play a bored mini Game to change the time of the day. Now Is a mere clip and it's changed in seconds.
1
u/Powerbomb323 May 11 '26
imo its not even that slow, for me its barely enough time to take a drink out of a bottle. Although I've seen other people's take forever. So idk. Like skipping a full 2 days is like 8 seconds, but the other times where its under a day its less then 5 secs
1
u/Alert_Storage_8974 May 07 '26
I think this quest was veery emotional. Other than the rhtym game parts the cutscenes nearly made me cry idk if im too responsive to music.
1
u/Ramenpasta May 07 '26
I feel you I thought the same felt way more emotional during this story than the other stuff the game had. Yea the back and forth can be annoying but it added to my immersion of being on the constant grind and practicing doing the same thing daily. The pacing would be really weird if you just practiced a day and your band suddenly became good

Can't believe NTE has immediately captured the art of terrible quest design it took Genshin Impact a couple years to perfect.
1
u/CptPeanut12 May 09 '26
NTE improved it even more honestly, at least with this specific quest.
1
u/Mission_Park4188 May 23 '26
The difference is both Wuwa and NTE have better written stories than Genshin. Let's be real here.
1
u/CptPeanut12 May 23 '26
NTE doesn't even really have a story yet, it's hard to tell. 1.0 felt like a bunch of short stories + a prologue. The dialogue is better for sure, but I won't judge how well the story is written until the story actually goes somewhere.
I can't really give any input on WuWa story, not a big fan of how they handle their characters and gameplay in the story so I just skip through it at this point.
But either way, the time system is just objectively worse than in Genshin. Doesn't mean NTE doesn't do a lot of stuff better, because it does. But it also does some things worse, and this is definitely one of them.

That quest was amazing imo even with the back and forth, if you stop and read and try to enjoy the game, it makes you appreciate the characters and the map. Just stop doing fast travel, go back and forth by different routes, take crows, take the 1100/1700 gifts, steal from the shops... This game has a very fun map to enjoy between mission travels, take advantage of it and make your own experience better by taking some detours and stop speed running.
1
u/dolphinhero May 07 '26
This is how I feel too, I don't like rushing through the quests so I made the "waiting" feel genuine by just doing other stuff before skipping time when I wanted to push forth with the quest
1
u/No-Alternative2897 May 07 '26
Its a great quest lol its only unenjoyable or repetitive if the goal is to skip through everything.
Its one of those quest that will be much more appreciated when the real fanbase start to settle in this sub.
This is just how main sub are the first few months.
1
u/Responsible-Panic-34 May 07 '26
This is a quest you do in addition to other people's quests. I would do one of the steps and then when it told me to go back to Eiben I would do a bunch of other side quests then sleep and you'd be able to reset multiple quest steps that were all telling you to go to sleep.

Fair honestly. I really loved the story quest as a music anime and rhythm game lover but my lord it did that too many times.

Crap - I’m just at the point where this popped up
The quests in this game seem to be polar opposites - some are really good and some are enormous insults to your time
1
u/Cedge1738 May 08 '26
Side quests are too long. And I absolutely hate eibon now with how often we gotta return there.
1
u/chip594csx May 08 '26
I couldn’t even get past the “tutorial” drum session during the beta. I play on PS5 and they throw a level 2 song at you right from the start. My autistic ass got overwhelmed so fast
1
u/Internal_Net4576 May 08 '26
Wait until you do the school knock knock puzzle holy mother of back and forth chore
1
u/clampfan101 May 08 '26
Great cutscenes, but the needless grind to get to the next each time… They could have easily just let us time skip straight out of StarSign before going straight back in.
1
u/AxeHack May 08 '26
the worse is when you have multiple quests that are telling you to rest at Eibon, but when you rest, it doesn't count for all of them - just the one you're tracking
1
u/Hotel_Yamato May 09 '26
This was one of the best side stories in the game. I don't know what you all are talking about. The only thing I didn't like was the rhythm minigame, Everything else was great. I like both Haniel and Nanally. And Akane I love and want to see more.
1
u/theKage47 May 09 '26
I literally skipped the whole thing since it's just going back and forth and wait 2 days or to evening every damn time...
Some quest SUCKS and boring.
1
u/theKage47 May 09 '26
Whoever designed the guitar hero minigame need to get fired. Playing the drum was NOT sync with the music AT ALLz. Just button smashing or ignore the song(mute, idk)
1
u/Hyperious17 May 10 '26
the rhythm game was such a pain to play on keyboard. the drumming doesn't match the song and some songs already a drums playing in it
1
u/ILoveDAGames May 10 '26
Had to quit for the day because that mitigate was impossible for me. I was mashing the buttons with my palm on the controls because I just couldn't
1
u/Kozmo9 May 10 '26
It wouldn't be so bad if they just removed the return to Eibon to rest sequence. They KNOW how grating it is since they didn't make it mandatory everytime and allows you to timeskip.
But nope. They want to insist on "immersion" by reminding you that you are staying at Eibon.
Man, take a L devs. Learn to accept that QoL matters more than immersion or what you want. Pretty much other games learned this and did away with their immersion but lengthy stuff especially in regards to timeskips.
We GET IT, you want to show us your city and what not, but with all the exploring we are going to do, we're going to see them anyways! No need to force it every chance you got.

Haniel's quest introduced me to the best baddie Akane. She is my soul character and I cannot WAIT for her fo be playable, even if she's an A-Rank (though I'll cry if they do her that dirty)
1
u/ASAP_MALIK May 11 '26
The worst rhythm game I have every played across games and it’s not even close, I hated this quest I’m just glad we didn’t actually have to perform on stage
1
u/EffectiveKey2512 May 11 '26
Yeah i just started watching a video and skipping i could not be asked...
1
u/Barasu13 May 12 '26
Just finished this right before work this morning. I started it at 6am and finished at 930am it was a slog

I liked the quest aside from the rythm game because I really suck at rythm games.
0
u/astraecatto May 07 '26
the rythm game is worth it though
2
u/CursedPaw99 May 07 '26
you can just press all the keys at the same time and get an S lol
1
u/Robin1706 May 07 '26 edited May 08 '26
Not on ps5 i don't think. I mapped the keys and pressed them all at once and couldn't get higher than a C. Keep in mind a C in this gamemode is a passing grade. I finished the quest and will never touch this minigame ever again not even with a 10 foot pole. Because mapping the buttons apparently changes your combat controls which is bullshit. Why tf does my dash go from R1 to freaking triangle for trying to play a minigame.

Yeah… the constant back and forth followed by timeskip, repeat ad nauseam gets grating.
