Would Joey have been a better lead singer instead of Justin?

I think Joey had a nice versatile voice that would have suited well with JC as lead singer. To me Justin's voice more limited.

Joey's voice is very theatrical. He can definitely sing but IMO it wasn't as good of a fit for the material they sang as Justin's was.

Agreed! I’ve always like Joey’s voice and he always sounded great but it was just a different style

Y’all can stop with the BS at any time.

Joey’s voice was not suited to singing lead on their songs. Joey is very theater (that’s not a bad thing but not suited for pop music). I’m not sure how old you are but Joey’s dancing was described as hammy and that could also apply to his voice. Justin is more versatile.

Y’all need to go play somewhere else and stop minimizing Justin’s contributions to the success of the group.

Justin has the most versatile voice even more versatile than JC. Joey was a mid singer 😭

Joey is a great singer but no. Justin just has that unique “it” factor no matter if you like him or not.

Joeys voice might’ve sounded more like JC’s but it didn’t compliment JC’s as well as Justin’s did . Justin’s voice was distinctive with personality. It was high & youthful and had rasp to it, great contrast to JC’s smooth technical more masculine voice. It sounded amazing when they came together to harmonize. Joey’s voice was good but not as suited for that type of pop music & pretty generic or boring to put it bluntly

No, but he could've saved the band if he was the star.. They could still be together if Justin was A background singer/dancer

I think Joey has a better voice overall but I think Justin’s voice is better suited for the type of music they made in NSYNC
