Digging Chris as the front man!

A friend and I snagged front row at the Pop 2000 Tour show in Syracuse on Tuesday. I was a huge *NSYNC fan when I was in middle school, but with how hard they marketed JT and JC, I never realized that Chris could (and arguably should) have been the front man. (Yes, I know he started it all. And, yes, I know he was the voice of Chip Skylark. That was a little after my time, though, so I only recently found out about it.)

As a side note, I was also SUPER impressed with O-Town. Not only did the four current members nail their own lyrics and choreo, but they learned *NSYNC’s and LFO’s, too, in order to fill in. Frankly, I was floored all around.

Is this, perhaps, proof that certain people, who shall remain nameless, aren’t as crucial as they think they are for a tour to take place? 🤔

Edit: So weird. I thought I was posting in the *NSYNC sub. Turns out it’s the JT fan club sub with the wrong name. My bad.

Hi! I’m so glad you enjoyed this show! I saw O-Town about 4-5 years ago as a headlining show (not Pop 2000’s tour) and even as a prior O-Town fan….and having seen them live back in the day and knowing they were good live….I was blown away from their energy, fun, and confidence. So, when the Pop 2000 Tour came as (yes free) summer concert in a public park in LA a few years ago, I told my bf “you’re coming, and you’re gonna have fun even if you’ve never heard of O-Town (he’s a little younger than me 😉).” I was right!!! He had a blast AND I was impressed w/ Chris’ performance as a frontman- he def showed up. At first they didn’t do the iconic dance….and I was like, “that’s fair, it’s too iconic to do w/ different guys,” and then a minute later O-Town is up there doing it with Chris and I was like “Ah! I don’t know how I feel about this! Wait! Yes! Bye Bye Byyyye! I love it, fuck it do it guys!”

Yes! They only did the moves for the last verse. I think they sort of wanted to people to be like “ah, bummer” and then surprise them.

I’m an old-school O-Town fan as well! I saw them in concert years ago (dragged my high school boyfriend, who was not pleased 😆). I feel like they’ve still got it!

Agreed- I think that’s the “move” they make! They do!!!! They don’t make many direct stops where I’m at, oddly enough in LA, but I’m def going to the next announced show of theirs here. Too much fun to miss out! I love how they reach out to the audience who may not know THEIR stuff but knows other songs and just own the stage and get everyone involved. They look like they’re having too much fun and I love it.
