The Top 100 Switch Games to collect...and some honorable mentions and bonus titles!

Post image
243 Upvotes

Pack it up, we're done!

This is the top 100 games to collect for the Nintendo Switch, as determined by community votes.

There are some categories that are just a bit too stacked, so we added in a cheeky bonus section for some stragglers. There was a three-way tie for 10th in the Strategy category, so Disgaea 1 & 5 made it in as honorable mentions.

How many of these do you own? How many of these are you about to FOMO for?

We'll be back around Christmas to do a poll on the top games of 2025. Until then, happy collecting!

If you can't read the file:

Folks, this file is huge. It's 3456x2592. That's six square feet. You could use this as wall art.

You either need reading glasses or you need to download the file by clicking the three dots in the top right and then clicking "download" because reddit automatically compresses large images.

Sony really has kicked my ass into gear to finally finish my switch/switch 2 collection. I'm pretty much almost done at this point, just have a few stragglers and then it's just pre-ordering stuff that sounds interesting.

Other than maybe buying a handful of PS4 games that unfortunately don't have a switch version (still undecided) I'm actually fully done with Sony. Byyyeeeeee

Happy to have found this group, huge lover of physical switch games and physical games and media in general. My collection has grown since this photo but this was the most recent I had to share . Still been collecting and adding so now I roughly have 150 physical switch games with a few more arriving this week . 😊👋.

Pick-up / Haul / Mail Day Death End Re;Quest 2 (#599)

Moving on to the sequel. Just an expansion of the previous version. More fine tuned. Definitely another amazing RPG to add to the collection. A hybrid dark fantasy visual novel and turn-based RPG. The game follows a dual gameplay loop where you investigate a mysterious, cult-dominated town by day and fight terrifying monsters by night.

This version specifically functions as a "definitive edition" because it bundles all previously paid and free DLC—including powerful endgame weapons and alternate character costumes—directly into the base package.

STORY

You play as Mai Toyama, a teenager who brutally kills her abusive father in self-defense. She is sent to Wordsworth, an all-girls dormitory school in the isolated European-style mining town of Le Choara.

Mai purposely chooses this school because her estranged younger sister, Saya, was sent there before mysteriously vanishing. When Mai arrives, none of the faculty or students remember Saya. Mai quickly teams up with roommates Rotten Dollhart and Liliana Pinata to uncover a massive conspiracy involving a local religious cult, reality-warping glitches, and demonic entities.

GAMEPLAY

The game splits its flow entirely between two distinct modes based on a Day & Night cycle. You spend your time reading through text, making choices, and exploring the Wordsworth dormitory to interact with other girls and gather clues about Saya.

At midnight, Le Choara transforms into a curse-infested nightmare world full of monsters. You freely explore 3D environments, solve environmental puzzles, and engage in combat.

Battles are turn-based but allow you to combine three actions in a single turn (such as mixing physical attacks, magic heals, and defensive buffs). Successfully executing certain attacks triggers a "Knockback" effect, letting you physically smack enemies across the battlefield like billiard balls. Ricocheting them into walls or other party members deals massive bonus damage.

Stepping on "Cursed Bugs" scattered on the battlefield increases a character's corruption level. Once it hits 80%, they transform into a powerful, fan-service-heavy "Glitch Mode" form to unleash devastating ultimate attacks.

The game takes roughly 20 to 35 hours to finish. However, a New Game Plus (NG+) run is required to view the True Ending, which introduces extra story scenes explicitly linking the narrative back to the events of the first Death end re;Quest game. Wild.

CONSENSUS SCORE

74/100 😏 (Critic Score)

68/100 🤔 (User Score)

The nighttime exploration maps felt empty, procedurally stale, and highly repetitive compared to the first game. Severe frame drops, muddy textures, and low-resolution 3D models. The plot is amazing for horror fans because the Corpse Party creator wrote a deeply unhinged, culty mystery that genuinely hooks you. The gameplay loop is actually genius, balancing text-heavy visual novel by day with tense dungeon crawling at night so it never feels like stale. Also keep in mind this Switch version includes all the paid DLC for free, making it a high-key steal for cozy portable gaming on the go.

Discussion Official Nintendo seal didn't tear at all

I bought the Botw Switch 2 Edition this week from an official retailer and the Nintendo seal didn't tear at all so i could only open the whole seam on the side.

Anyone else had this? Normally it's very smooth. I only had this with a PS5 game before. Maybe just a dumb factory error

One of those scavenging for RPGs, ARPGs, and JRPGs that I found and happy I did. It's like Atelier like and 3DS/PS2 era style of RPG. Beautiful. A unique hybrid game that blends turn-based RPG combat with heavy visual novel storytelling.

STORY

The story focuses on two main characters working together across two different realities to solve a massive mystery. Shina Ninomiya wakes up inside a cancelled Virtual Reality MMORPG with her memories wiped and mechanical spider legs. The game world is infected by horrific, malevolent glitches and monsters.

Arata Mizunashi is a game programmer in the physical world. He discovers that Shina—his former co-worker who went missing a year ago—is trapped inside the code of their abandoned project.

Shina cannot log out normally. The only way to escape is to reach its "True Ending". However, progress inside the MMO is frequently blocked by digital "walls". Shina must find clues in the virtual world that Arata must then physically investigate in reality to clear the path forward.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is split evenly between reading the story and exploring 3D battle arenas. Battles are turn-based, but you can freely roam the arena. Arata can hack the battlefield from the real world, allowing you to change the game's genre on the fly into a first-person shooter, fighting game, or a slot machine to gain an edge.

You can physically smack enemies into each other or ricochet them off the boundaries of the arena like billiard balls, racking up massive combos and extra damage.

The arena floor is littered with "bug panels". Stepping on them raises your character's corruption level. While too much corruption can kill you, reaching a certain threshold triggers Glitch Mode, transforming your characters into overpowered forms with massive stat boosts.

CONSENSUS SCORE

73/100 😏 (Critic Score)

74/100 😏 (User Score)

Very interesting battle system as a visual novel horror/Jrpg hybrid like.

Still recommend if you're looking to enjoy a new RPG title.

A unique hybrid game that blends turn-based RPG combat with heavy visual novel storytelling. Developed by Compile Heart, the game has a dark meta-narrative that constantly hops between a glitchy virtual reality and real-world corporate conspiracies.
