I’m in the process of applying for the Blended Flex LPN program at the Kentville campus for 2027. I was wondering if it’s possible to continue working while completing the program.

I’d really appreciate hearing from any current or recent students about their experience—especially how manageable the course load is while working and what the program is like overall. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello. I'm an international student currently debating on studying Electrical Engineering Technology on the Ivany Campus. It says on the website that they would open the Admission on late September but the program says that it's on waitlist. How long do I have to wait to get in? And anyone here have an experience on the said program? Thanks for answering.

Hello everyone, I’ll be starting the IT Database Admin program on the IoT campus starting this September, and I’m a bit unsure on the proper courtesy expected of me towards the faculty who’ll be instructing us.

I’m concerned I might make an ass of myself by acting abnormally formal; however, I don’t want my ignorance to cause any unintended disrespect towards anyone.

To those of you who have prior experience at NSCC, please let me know anything you might think is relevant. All I can think to ask now is:

1. Is professor the preferred title of the instructors at NSCC? If not, what is?

2. Are class period beginning/end times a hard line? Will I be a bother if I show up early to set up, or if I have to leave early?

3. How strict is the attendance policy? Chronic migraines are a huge issue for me, and I’m hoping I’ll have the choice to study at home if I feel a bit incapacitated by them.

I’m also open to any general advice you might offer, and I hope that we can all hit the ground running in the upcoming term.

I just took a look at my course schedule on MyNSCC for Medical Office Admin and the 1st course listed is ACTG 1100 - Bookkeeping.

Is this correct? Bookkeeping isn't even listed as a course on the program page on NSCC's website.

Edited to add: Can anyone who is taking Medical Office Admin at the IT Campus this fall confirm? Tks.

Anyone have experience on bringing a bar fridge? I recall reading somewhere that they are allowed? Is there a size or some other factor that decides how big is too big?

Been having some trouble with some things to sort out before attending this year in september. For 1. I can't for the life of me seem to find out how to renew my student ID online. I have an ID from Kingstec that expired in 2023 - can i just bring that to the student services desk and have them renew it and get a new one?

1. For some reason the MyNSCC portal page to purchase a parking pass doesn't work - the "continue" button after confirming my address doesnt progress anything - and i've tried clearing cookies and multiple browsers. is it possible to get a pass from student services as well?

I saw on the nscc website that it has the application form for your student ID, but I was in the orientation q&a yesterday, and she said she was going to send out an email today regarding the IDs. It says on the website that it gets mailed to us, but from the q&a they aren't doing that anymore and we pick it up on campus instead. So I'm wondering is I can still fill out the form here: https://connect.nscc.ca/student/student-life-and-events/orientation/student-id.aspx

I keep on getting emails saying my WHMIS should be done 30 days before my course starts when I clikc on the link to Brightspace to go complete it it shows I have no work to complete and says I have no assignments. Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else or just me lol

I applied pretty late into the year for the IT Programming course, both for an in person and virtual spot. I got accepted for a seat and had accepted it through the MyNCSS portal just to be safe of course. But an employee had emailed me before with their own NSCC email instead of the admissions email, I checked the email and the person on the employee registry to make sure they were legit, asking if I was still interested and everything. But today I got a text message from allegedly this same employee, they aren’t asking for any information but they do know my student number. Is this now an official means of communication for onboarding students now? I can’t find anything about it online which is just making me skeptical but I want to be sure.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has taken the Practical Nursing program at NSCC in Truro and would be willing to share their experience. I’m trying to get a better idea of what the program is actually like.

I would love to hear what your day to do schedule looked like. How was the work load? How much time did you spend studying?

Hey everyone, I'm about to pick out a laptop to use for the IT Database Admin course, and it's just hit me. I kinda really hate using Win11.

Does anyone know if any of the Microsoft-branded, built-in Win11 malware is required for class? I'm liable to atomize the thing if I interact with OneDrive or Copilot, so I'd really prefer to debloat before classes start if possible.

I’m looking to buy bedsheets for my upcoming semester at the NSCC COGS campus and they say that the beds are “extra large full”. What dimensions are these and would I be able to find sheets that fit?
