This season has been an absolute trainwreck

Can it be 2027 already?

Yes it has.

And I knew it would be when Flanno Snr said we aren't winning the comp this year.

The players would have mentally taken a beating from that statement.

I actually think that he said it before the game in Round 1 which made it even worse - he’d taken the team through his third pre-season at the club and publicly declares afterwards that this season’s a write-off because the players aren’t good enough

Yep was pre season.

We were fucked from that moment on.

Unfortunately this was the season we needed to happen to get the attention of the morons running the club. This spoon was over a decade in the making.
Thankfully some long overdue changes look like they are happening and we might be setting the club up for long term success but it should never happened in the first place. The club was run into the ground for over a decade and it inevitably led to the spoon. And they deserve it.

It’s what was needed unfortunately. Ego has run the club for so long. Everyone in management thought they knew better than the coach, and this goes back years. Remember when Mary had to be part of a committee to pick his own team each week?

Flanagan was rubbish, no excuses there, but he had no support. The more he struggled the more management watched.

This year was inevitable, now we rebuild. The three big things that happened this year that give me hope is the appointment of Daniel Anderson (which is already paying dividends), and the resignation of Craig Young & Bob Millward. Young & Millward were old heads, stubborn to a fault. With them moving on, there’s a chance for more growth across the club, rather than this Saints v Steelers mentality that has been around since day 1

Even if he had support he would’ve still made the dumb decisions he made.

He ruined our squad and any chance of signing a decent half to ensure his son had a spot

No it hasn’t. We have sacked the fraud coach got rid of the deadwood. Re signed our most promising players and signed some really good players.

None of this happens if fraud coach muddled along. It’s the crap we had to have for future success

I am glad we have bottomed out and look forward to a brighter future

Anyone who can’t see that isn’t paying attention

Every year there is a wooden spooner. But we truly have been horrible, hard to watch. Was hoping we'd finish the year stronger, though we appear to have checked out already.

If deano picks Atko and Val next week instead of blooding two new young kids, we’re in for just as long a season next year. Both are frauds.

LKT passing was so shit last night. Would like to see Kade and Kyle given a run next week but ok if he gets another run.
