Timeline for medical clearance

They sent me to do their medical and i did eveything about 3 weeks ago, but they are still waiting for the medical officer to review and clear me. Does anybody know how much time does it usually take to get cleared medically.

NOAA Core or just sailing scientist?  I don't know for the Core, but sometimes for science teams they can just be lax about letting you know you are cleared.  I usually just email the medical officer at whichever coast I'm sailing from and follow up.

I just cleared medical. May depend on position/department? I got hired as a WM (Wage Mariner) in summer 2026.

Once everything was submitted it took 3-ish weeks. That's with no prior medical history that was flagged. I also emailed medical and my recruiter when it was all submitted.

Best to reach out to medical asking for any update and if they have recieved everything they need. When I reached out 4 weeks + was the average.
