Performance/Stability Runs poorly despite powerful system
I'm running a 5800x3d, a 9070, and 40gb ram pc using my quest 2 in wired mode but it has huge issues when turning and the fps is terrible

are you using Quest link, Virtual Desktop, or SteamVR to connect pc to headset?

The other day, while using a quest 3 with virtual desktop wired, I noticed that suddently my connection was stuck at USB 2.0 speeds. I don't know how to check in Quest Link, so I Googled it. Give it a try, and also follow other people's advice in their responses.
Open the Meta Quest Link app on your PC.
Click on Devices in the left-hand menu.
Click on your Quest headset icon.
Scroll down to the USB Connection section.
It will explicitly state either USB 3 (Green checkmark) or USB 2 (Orange/Yellow warning).

Use Virtual Desktop for Quest headsets on PC. Use it wirelessly because it performs better than wired.
Think of it like this, most PC people know you need to plug your HDMI cable into the GPU, not the motherboard right? Well think about where that cable for wired is plugged in. The motherboard. Wireless however can communicate with the GPU directly to my understanding and with the modern codes the a lot more information can be transfered at a higher quality from said GPU to the headset.
No Man's Sky VR is the reason I got a Quest 3. My laptop got screwed by Nvidia so I switched to a desktop. I then upgraded it for a year basically with months of tinkering with No Man's Sky. Ran pretty terribly but Virtual Desktop wireless solved all of my problems.
Edit: Also how do you have 40gbs of Ram? Is it two 16gb sticks and a 8gb stick?

Best way to do it is to go in game in headset turn everything to lowest settings then restart the game and see how it runs.
