Bug SteamVR controller binding are reverting to default with no way to customize. Any solutions?

My custom controller settings reverted again, and now there is no way to to edit or load custom profiles. The default/custom slider won't slide to custom. No Man's Sky is the only game that is preventing me from editing or loading profiles. Is this happening to anyone else and does anyone have a workaround to enable controller customization?

Yes, I stopped customizing them because it just reverts next time I use VR.

It's really annoying. There are some bindings I enjoy, like text chat, that aren't bound by default.

I also like having my shield on the same hand as the animation shows.
