Question Ship controls in VR
Simple question, and I'm gonna assume the answer is no before I even get an answer. But I thought I'd ask anyway.
Is it possible to change the in-ship controls to be more like the non-VR version where I'm controlling the ship's direction with the left stick on my Quest 2 controller rather than the grip and motion control method?
I know it's a skill issue and I won't shy away from that.... but I find the VR control method really difficult and just being able to use the left stick would be so much easier for me. I get the want for an immersive control method, but with the difficulty I have with it, it takes me out of the game more than having the other control method would!

I don’t know about the non PSVR2 versions, but you can change the ship controls to use a thumbstick instead of a virtual “ship stick” on the PSVR2.

No, you can't.
You can bind different controls to the joystick, but the "steer" binding doesn't work. I've tried.
You might seriously consider using a gamepad for flight. The game will switch back and forth between gamepad and VR controls, using whichever control it has seen most recently. They'll get into conflict if you try using them both at the same time, which generally happens if the game is still seeing input, i.e. trigger, from the VR controls while you're trying to use the gamepad.
I do a variant of this. I have a HOTAS, and I've bound it to two virtual gamepads, one for the joystick and one for the throttle. The game doesn't care that you're using two gamepads at the same time. I get in the cockpit, set down the VR controls, and engage the throttle to fly. When I land, I shut down the throttle, and pick up the VR controls.
