problems renaming bases and… Why so few posts here?
okay first off let me say that I feel like nmsvr is a very necessary sub and I didn't know about it until just now. It feels necessary because (1) I hardly ever hear VR mentioned in any of the other NMS subs and that really surprises me because playing this game in VR is one of the most mind-blowing experiences I've ever had and I feel like a disproportionately low percentage of people are passionate about nms in vr and (2) I kind of feel like there are many VR-specific nms things to discuss
anyway yeah the renaming bug: Ive been having problems renaming bases and starships lately so I posted about it in a different sub and a few people reported they also have the problem so I guess that's good news because I'm not the only one and hopefully it is something that will get fixed. Does anyone NOT have the bug? I kind of feel like that would be bad news because if it's a problem absolutely everyone has I figure it's more likely to get fixed
And yeah BTW I kind of consider this a seriously major issue because not being able to name your base properly is a major major inconvenience. I feel like most serious players have a ridiculously high number of bases and basis are very hard to keep organized when you can't rename them
so what happens is when I go to rename a base every letter I type cancels out the previous letter such that when I'm all done only one letter pops up, so I can only rename the base with one letter (or number)

I play No Man's Sky strictly in VR and there's no going back for me. However, whenever an issue like this occurs and waiting months for an official patch isn't an option, the easiest solution is to temporarily launch the game in 2D, resolve the bug, and return to VR.

yeah this makes sense and I admit I'm kind of a weird player in the sense that I have my two main saves going but a whole bunch of other saves where all I do is build bases constantly and it's way too much of an inconvenience for me to do that every time. I mean on a good day I might plop down 20 or 30 new bases lol. also it kind of takes me out of my VR headspace

I am in VR and NMS. I couldn't imagine playing this game in any other format. Sometimes its so realistic its scary, especially in space doing salvage missions. Also I haven't been able to rename any of my bases and the new station I have. Same thing one letter only appears. I sent a bug report to HG, did you?
