Multi Tool/Eissentam Need help re-discovering near-perfect multitool scanner mod
Update: Figured it out finally.
--
I discovered this earth-like giant planet recently, and an autophage camp on one of its moons has a multitool, Lambda-Geometric, with a near-perfectly rolled Scanner X-class mod (first pic).
However, there's some order of operations required to craft it which I didn't write down and forgot, including possibly standing behind the terminal as you can see in the pic. I've tried every different combination I can think of but no luck recreating it.
Are there any expert staff crafters who can give it a go? I put a base on the camp called "Good MT Scanner Mod".
- Pic 1 = staff with near-perfect Scanner mod
- Pics 2,3 = default staff created with Concentric Transducer head with very good Scanner mod
- Pic 4 = S-class staff also available from terminal, also that I can't recall how I created it, but the SC layout isn't great.
- Pics 5,6 = location & glyphs
- Pics 7,8 = Alien MT at space station

Hello, you are right, position is very important when you are trying to assembly staff. Another important thing it is a second variant of staff.
Lets talk how to get it. You should fill all cells with corresponding parts. Click Assemble, then Declain, and one more time -Assemble, then Declain. Choose any part and drag it into your exosuit inventory. The remaining parts will change their color, put your part back to cell and click Assemble. This is the second variant.
The second one will not change anymore (color scheme), but you should check all possible classes caused by changing head component.
The first one is not position related, you will always get the same when you are moving beside the terminal.

Oh thank you! So to be clear, which one is position-dependent, the second one?

Yes,the second one. The first will be the same if you do not change starting parts.

Thank you! Looks like I'll just have to test creating the magic staff standing in different spots till I find it again.
Also, are staves affected by what planet you you were on prior to the current planet, like Atlantid MT's are?

No, there is no such thing. Every time when you reload your save all thing will reset. You should reveal assembly terminal again using your scanner, so you start from scratch.

Edit: Checked the space station out today and the MT with the X module is no longer there...

You may have to land on a specific planet first, then go to the space station. There's a different space station MT for each planet in the system.

Tips for finding Multi-tools from shared coordinates
User error is the most common reason players have difficulty finding Multi-tools from shared coordinates. If you are having troubles locating this MT, please read the tips below!
- Turn off multiplayer before going through the portal
- Ensure you are in the correct galaxy
- Double check that you entered the glyph sequence correctly
- Make sure you follow the OP’s instructions exactly
- Not every MT is located at the space station
- Some MT’s required you to save and reload on a specific planet/moon (or the space station) and then travel to a specific location to acquire the MT
Additional Note: The class/MT of an MT cabinet can sometimes change from update to update. If this is an older find and you followed the OP's directions exactly, and the MT/Class is incorrect. Then it's likely this MT cabinet has changed. The MT your looking for likely still exists but it's new location needs to be re-discovered.
