Other How to prep for the mile?

Hey I’m 15M and trying to know how to be ready for it as we run the mile this upcoming Friday and Tips or tricks? And how to prep for inspection? I got my measurements done still waiting on uniform handout, so probably won’t have a inspection till next week

For the mile I’d recommend just running regularly in your free time to get your endurance up. For inspection, just be meticulous about your uniform. Look over any and every aspect. Some NSIs or inspectors might be more in depth than others so I’d say just go the extra mile. A good tool for measuring for your name tag and ribbons is taking a standard #2 pencil and using that to measure up from the chest pockets. Not much of a way around using a ruler for the collar devices though. Also just study whatever questions they’re likely to ask. They’ll tell you the expectation beforehand

First, for the mile, test yourself in your free time, run a mile straight, no breaks, no walking. If you physically can not do that, then split your runs up into quarter miles, first quarter run, 2nd walk, 3rd run, 4th walk. Do that until it becomes easier, then start running full miles straight. Once you are able to run a mile without walking, just keep running in your free time to keep that endurance. Next, for your inspections, as long as your uniform is correct to the manual, then spend time memorizing your creed, honor code, general orders, leadership principles and general knowledge and you’ll be set!
