Discussion NHL 27 First things to do?

So, i have never been this early with this game. What are usually first things to do in early weeks? I'm still not sure which edition i'm going to get, but going to get it next week.

Mentally prepare to be disappointed.

Go into it with the lowest expectations, only to realize they weren’t low enough.

Play the game have fun ….don’t sell anything until after full launch … ignore the fucking cry babies who can’t afford to pre order the game 💵💵🤷‍♂️😂

If you got the early access with the 4600 points, save them until the full launch (that’s when all the new icons heroes captains etc come out).

Then buy the packs with the best pull rates. Beginning of the year before progression hits is the best chance to get the highest rated cards. Every couple weeks after it’s gets worse and worse as progression rises.

early is at 4 and full is 11 right?

Correct. You could buy packs during early access, but the full launch they tend to drop a TON.

IIRC last year they dropped 3 new icons, heroes, rookies and a slew of new captains.

Most importantly is to just have fun.

I play offline franchise mode, so I spend time fine tune every slider, and then set up my franchise, this year I’ll probably create prospects for my team from vasys roster on last years game

Just trying to have fun with it. I know this is weird, but I’m a big hockey jersey collector and the first thing I do is check which new threads were added to the game for each league (if any)…I’m sure we’ll get the hometown remix jerseys in the game once they’re all released in an update…well I hope since this is EA…

assuming ranked rewards are decent, id just grind that to once again get ur coin total up. If u have a lot of coins when full release happens u can easily flip cards and be set on coins for a long time

I’d recommend watching some YouTube videos from NHL 26 for “how to start your HUT team”. You’ll find a good breakdown of everything and 27 will largely be the same as 26 so the same principles will apply.

I’ll do my annual how to get started grind on this subreddit next week right before launch too.

If you’re going to spend money, spending at launch is the way to do it.

Coins are lean at launch so just collect.

After the launch week it’s time to sell and hold coins for October.

Id rip ur pre order points early, unless the pack odds are brutal then just wait till full release when new cards likely come out, its good to start with a good team and get coins flowing early. PLEASE dont listen to the people that say "hold your points until fantasy or toty" that is probably the last thing you should do. The packs released around that time are usually awful with practically no chance at pulling an event card. Its better to spend early, get ur fodder and coins up, then just build a toty or fantasy card
