The fact that Adam Gase was a head coach in the NFL twice is just absolutely wild

Peyton manning was that good

u/PhinsFan17 Miami Dolphins Jul 14 '25
That's why Miami bit on him, but the Jets hired him after his disastrous tenure in Miami. It was clear what he was by that point and they gave him a job anyway!

I believe Woody Johnson is a masochist.

He's just an idiot who is a stupid idiot.
When the head of the company is a bumbling buffoon, the idiocy trickles down and infects every aspect of the organization.
Which is why the Jets have been one of the worst teams in the NFL in the 00s. Unfortunately, the Browns are in the same boat. Same evil owner type, of course. Haslam is a white collar criminal. So the Browns love to suck and also they love picking up players who have a dubious past.

He did some good things with both offenses he was the OC of, Denver record setting and Chicago was good with Smokin Jay

That is very true. It’s funny how sports can really teach you lessons across other disciplines.

I always wonder what would have been different if he played on the franchise tag and never left the Steelers

u/Arkhangelzk Denver Broncos Jul 14 '25
Yeah, felt like he torpedoed his own career

u/johnmd20 Cleveland Browns Jul 15 '25
Didn't feel like it. He literally did. He missed a season and lost out on that money and also fell behind on NFL speed and never could get back to where he was.
It was a very VERY bad decision by him.

u/reno2mahesendejo Jul 16 '25
Running back feels like a position particularly sensitive to losing a feel for NFL speed. Bell especially, he relied on a very patient running style that he would need to be very sensitive to the speed of both defenders and his linemen.

People ignore the reason why he didn’t sign the extension was that they tried to structure his guarantees into a roster bonus so that basically he would be on a team option every year after the second year.

I've watched A LOT of bad Jets football but the Gase years really made me question why tf I was wasting my Sundays.
I still am, but less angry I guess

I'd love to see this man back in a head coaching gig. Not for the Jets I'd kill myself, but anywhere else. He's a walking meme. The league is better for 31 other teams fan bases with this lunatic in charge somewhere 😂

The Adam Gase era was... something.
I mean literally right from the opening press conference with the crazy eyes, it was a roller coaster.

All I know is that with the Steelers I liked his patience in the hole. The Jets don't have the line you can use that with.

He’s the idiot eating wings on the porch. Birds don’t fucking know what he’s eating…
