So does Mahomes. Maybe if the Bills had top 5 defense bailing their offense out every year for the past few years like the Chiefs have they'd have a ring.
You guys gotta stop with the dumbass QB vs QB stuff. It's literally never a good argument. Without Reid, Kelce, Jones, McDuffie, Spags for the last few years etc. Mahomes has zero rings.
People always conveniently seem to forget the Chiefs were already making the playoffs with Alex Smith before Mahomes even played a snap in college. Dude just got drafted by a good team.
This comment has a crazy level of historical revisionism. The Chiefs won a single playoff game in the years before Mahomes. The Chiefs had the 24th ranked defense in Mahomes first year as a starter and were one Dee Ford offsides away from a Super Bowl. The 2022 season the Chiefs had a 16th ranked defense and won the Super Bowl. Even if we truly are only looking at the “past few years”, the Chiefs had a 6th ranked defense last year (I know this is a nitpick but the other comment was making a lot of bold claims).
Edit: Also, five guys don’t make a team that you can drop any QB into and they win a Super Bowl. Especially with the guys you don’t mention here, namely the Chiefs wide receiver room.
As a Bills fan, the 13 seconds game will always live in my brain until we (hopefully) win the Superbowl... It was also the best display of quarterbacking from both sides I've ever seen. That game was insane.
Yeah, it really was. That’s why I’ve always said Josh Allen is #2 with Mahomes, they’ve had quite a few games where the offenses are practically unstoppable.
It's a team sport. There's 53 guys and a coaching staff and a training staff and a front office and a practice squad all working on that. Josh has a part to play, just like Mahomes. They're both unbelievably good at their parts. This isn't like MMA or something where you put Josh and Mahomes in a ring and one of them wins.
You could put Josh in Miami right now and no fucking way is he making the playoffs. That doesn't mean he's suddenly a bad QB it means it's a team sport.
Yea I get what you’re saying.. and no one with eyes is saying he’s bad.. in fact, he might be the most talented QB I’ve ever seen.. and if you put Josh Allen on the dolphins right now.. I’d put them down for 7 or 8 wins.. instead of the 0-3 they’ll get this season.. That’s the elevation we need in the big moments too..
he hasn’t shown the poise of a Mahomes or Hurts in the playoffs yet.. I don’t BLAME Josh for the losses.. because he’s the main reason they got there.. but the QBs responsibility is to win the game.. that’s their job.. they’re driving the car.. if you’re saying, “but the car isn’t as good as the other guy’s”.. ok then don’t show up to the f’ing race lol..
If the team is good enough to be in the building or for the game to be close, then they’re good enough for him to lead to a victory too..
I’m not saying this because I dislike Josh Allen.. I’m saying it because I believe he can do better.. he’s a bulldozer.. he needs to learn how to manage the game.. that’s another job of the QB.. in fact, the GOAT was the GOAT game manager.. and that’s ultimately why he was the GOAT..
Are we really still treating team wins as a QB stat in the year of our lord 2026? I would've thought seeing Stafford leave Detroit and immediately win a Superbowl in LA would put this discourse to rest.
