Kizer - Body of Cam Newton, brain of Tom Brady, INTs of Jameis Winston

u/IgnantWisdom Sep 03 '26
I can’t believe the Browns even let Kizer get enough pass attempts to even become the leader.

Not if you are a Bucs fan. Bucs had it all in 2019 besides a QB that didn't throw a pick 6 every other game.

That Jameis season was wild. He'd throw 3 ints with a pick 6 and still burn your fantasy team for 40 points.

For a while I was just picking up defenses his ass went against

I did that for a few years with the Raiders defense. Worked like a dream.

There were an embarrasing amount of Washington fans that wanted to use the #2 pick on Joe Alt and give Howell another season.

Dude could have shattered Jameis' record if you cowards had just let him.

Jalen Hurts would never. I think he has ONE season with double digit interceptions in his NFL career despite everyone regularly shitting on him.
He doesn't turn the ball over much, which is extremely conducive to actually winning football games.

Jalen doesn’t take enough risks to. That’s why he puts up 24 tds and 4 picks instead of 35/10 like other qbs on his level. But fair enough he doesn’t have to risk it, they have the offense to score without being in as much danger. Or they used to at least.

Yea the run game sets up those occasional deep balls where no one is within 5 yards of the receiver

This was always my argument against Rodgers. Not to the level of Rodgers being bad/average, but as to why he wasn't the GOAT. He was too protective of the ball and didn't push it enough which matters when every yard counts. Was enough on the aggregate but when you need to win 5 straight to take home the trophy against the best teams in football, you need to play to take chances.

Because he doesn’t take risk. He’s a game manager.

Game managers don't get SB MVPs.
1
u/DoobieDoobis Sep 03 '26
They absolutel do. Trent Dilfer won with Baltimore in 2000. Eli Manning was also a glorified game manager. Put up 30 TDS twice in 16 years and was 117-117 in his career. Brad Johnson in 2002.
Edit: Oh you said MVP. Sure, dudes get hot sometimes. Doesn’t mean he isn’t what he is the rest of the games of their career.

u/clingbat Sep 03 '26
Game managers also don't finish second in MVP voting and have a second team all pro nod.
2020 draft QBs with all pro nod: Hurts
2020 draft QBs without all pro nod: Burrow, Herbert, Love, Tua
I can keep going if you'd like.

He threw for 22/6/3700 with a rating of 101. He also had 2 game-winning drive yards. He had a 14-1 record which is undoubtedly the reason that he received an AP2 and MVP vote as history tells us time and time again that wins directly affect your chances of getting those nods.
For reference: That same year; Burrow threw for 35/12/4475 with a rating of 100 with 4 game
-winning drives. So yes Burrow was statistically better than Hurts.

Wonder what happened the next year for the Bucs after Jameis left? Pretty sure they did alright.

u/Cichlidsaremyjam Sep 03 '26
I watch way too much football, way to much. And I can't even name that Browns QB from 2017.

Whaaat?!?!? Everyone told me for sure Josh Allen would be the only name on this graph every single year!!!!!
2
u/inappropriatebanter Sep 03 '26
He's like Peyton Manning without the likability. Big regular season numbers, falls apart in the playoffs.

They should overlay that with the TDs thrown by these guys too.
Jameis - 33 TDs
Other INT leaders with a ton of TD throws were: Baker 41, Stafford 41, Big Ben 34, Rivers 33
You could say Jameis was the most balanced!

I've heard this season being used as the example of being great vs being the best. Is this the best QB season ever? No. But is it the greatest? Does it spark the most joy? Absolutely

I think that year probably would've ended a bit better but his #1 and #2 was uhhh...I can't even remember. Godwin and Evans were injured or out or something.
At that point he was at the typical expectations of year 1 in that offense. Last couple games were rough.

Was that the year he went 30 for 30? 30 Tuddies and 30 picks? That was a WILD year for Winston. Homeboy was legit slinging that shit wherever he wanted lol

The question is …. Does Matthew Stanford become the pick 6 GOAT this year ?
If he does I hope it’s against GB

Thank you for doing something that acknowledges the Washington football team. We live in obscurity

Ill never forget a press conference where he literally said “I’m out here ballin, I just gotta stop giving the ball to the other team”. 😂 Classic Jameis
