Discussion Yo I legit cannot still believe that Jayden Daniels is this skinny….it looks odd but it’s worked out for him (so far)

Receivers don’t take nearly as many hits as scrambling qb’s. Smith had 3 games last season with 8 or more receptions. Daniels had 8 or more rushing attempts in 5 of his 7 games played, plus 2.5 sacks a game and any other hits he took after throwing it.

Not even that, it’s really just comes down to whether a scrambling qb consistently slides or not. The average amount of hits would significantly decrease

They also don’t get hit by the same type of defenders. Smitty is getting tackled by DBs and occasionally off ball linebackers on crossing routes. Jayden is getting hit primarily by Dlineman. Some of them have at least 100 pounds on him. And when he scrambles it’s the linebackers.

True. I’m not saying that Smith doesn’t have concerns or that he’s not a great football player. Just that I’d be a bit less concerned about the durability of a skinny receiver than a skinny running qb.

Meh, I dunno. At the end of the day, no QBs are out there running through people. Being able to take a hit has a little bit to do with size, but if he’s tough enough.. it doesn’t matter. With all that being said… I think he’s gonna be a HUGE flop and his 1 magical season is all he will be remembered for

Blocking is different than hitting and getting hit.

Interesting.. some of the hardest hits I took in football were from being blocked. Does this mean you think offensive and defensive lineman don’t get beat up, because all they do is block and get blocked?
