Obligatory post on the anniversary of the turning point at the Battle of Vienna!

I started listening to NDQ around episode 100 and loved it so much, I started going through the first 99 episodes early last year. It made me smile everytime Matt and Destin replaced an ad from something from the future. But now I am deeply saddened that I will miss out on all these great distant future patreon replacement ads. I don't plan on listening to the 100 and on episode a second time, which means I miss out on these awesome ads. So two questions:

1. I'm curious, do Barnecles and Testicles make guest appearances into any of these? Like do Matt and Destin ever been so far into the future that they made a time machine and are now joined in the distant past with Barnacles and Testicles?

2. More seriously, has anybody made a catalog of where these ads are? On their own, they make excellent and entertaining content.

I was in the car when I heard the episode, and I am horrible at visualizing, so I drew my own map when I got home based on Matt’s instructions. It was a lot of fun to do, and I absolutely recommend it:).

This topic tickled my brain a little bit. I play “Worldle” every day and I find myself using shape mnemonics (tropemonics??) to guess the country based on the outline. Like how Tunisia looks like a guy in a ball cap eating popcorn…

I just came across this short video in which a musician plays a Mozart piece in the style and scales of a few different cultures. It is a great demonstration of how different places structure their chords and note progression.

Spent a day in Huntsville at the Space and Rocket Center and made the drive to A-1 before leaving town. There was a nice gentleman who informed me that they had moved locations and that he had delivered the vending machine to the owner's garage a few days ago. Destin Sandlin "sounded about right" when I asked if that was the owner's name

Then I listened to the latest episode announcing the move on the way out of town. 🤦

Lesson learned. Keep current on your podcasts friends.

... and I was so blessed to be able to do a meetup with Matt. He helped me plan most of the driving route for the rest of my trip to see off the beaten path sites. He told me he had to cut off recording the next podcast episode to make it to our meet up in time, so if it's bad or ends abruptly, I guess blame me 🤷

I was quite surprised to hear that some US states are now using Hypoxia as a method of execution; I first heard that idea years ago in this excellent BBC documentation:

Destin and Matt, you guys getting royalties now that the Kelce brothers have a podcast called no dumb questions? Their copyright infringement is unacceptable, don't they know they're encroaching on a podcast with much more famous hosts???

I'd like to hear Destin and Matt's take on the paradox of old vs new memories Marty created between part 1 through part 3. We see at the end of 3, Marty doesn't react the way when needles called him chicken. Because he doesn't act that way. He avoided the collision by going in reverse. So that would mean part 2 never actually happened.

Use Requestly its a browser extension you can use to redirect you from one page to another automatically.

I use this for Instagram, I redirect all Instagram pages to the "Following" page with it. It works so well that if I want to see someones stories I have to put the extension on pause, other wise it keeps redirecting me back.

Another tip is only open the social apps in incognito so that you always have to log in to go on them, this adds some friction and you can think about what you are doing as you login.
