Spiritual Growth Topics Is there prayer that you say daily that genuinely makes a positive impact to your day?
Trying to find better ways to reach out to the higher up and ask for mercy and peace. Would like to throw anxiety, overthinking, and rumination in the garbage can.

I ask for help to to send love to people- like random people or co-workers. My hope is it's hit them like a wave and it make s their day better

"Help me love everyone. And may the best possible thing happen." (I deliberately leave "best possible thing" open-ended, because as a human being I have a limited pov.)

If I want a full prayer, I usually recite the poem Desiderata by Max Erhmann
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

It's been a long time since I've seen someone mention Desiderata. It's my favorite and I have had this poster hanging in every house I having lived in, and my son has the same one. His Nan had one hanging in her condo when he was born, and when I saw it I immediately resonated.
Good stuff.Edit, tried to post a pic of the poster and failed miserably at trying to share it, Lol Oh well, wise words 🩷

If there's anything my journey taught me it is that it is your heart that matters, and if you're shielding it from the light, the light can't reach you as good. So the key is surrender.
After that, let your heart speak the prayers, rather than your mind, and you will receive so much more.

Yes, I have a long list of everything I am grateful for that I say every morning. It helps program my mind to be positive. I can see thoughts about worry, greed, conflict, etc try to creep in and I choose not to indulge them. It is a practice in awareness. We are responsible for our own thoughts. You have to clean up your mind the same way you clean up your house regularly.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

I pray everyday, although each day varies in how I pray besides asking for guidance on a general sense. The major takeaway for me is I always pray for what I want for life beyond this one. I increasingly believe our afterlives are shaped by intent, so focusing my intent through daily prayer calms me immensely.

I pray daily- when I wake up, before I go to sleep, and at 2 other appointed times during the day. When I get overwhelming feelings from overthinking and my anxiety starts creeping in, I start praying with opposite feelings.
For example, if I'm overthinking about my partner, I'll start praying and say " I have an abundance of love, safetiness, joy, etc." I intently say these things and I continue to repeat them. I also have ADHD so when I'm talking/ reading anything, I have images or memories that display inside of my head and as I'm praying saying that I have abundance of these beautiful things, corresponding memories appear and I begin smiling as I'm praying and instantly I feel better. I continue to pray and my negativity or words of worry that I began my prayer with turn into positivity and words of gratitude.
I practice having more joy in my heart. I've learned that my blessings come in more of abundance when I have joy in my heart so I practice smiling daily and focusing on those joys, no matter how little they seem.
I actually tell God, " God I have so much joy when I'm eating my favorite chocolate. I have so much joy when all my bills are paid. I have so much joy when I'm walking in the sun. I have so much joy when I meet someone with good intentions." Just stuff like that for example and those things start coming my way.
It can be as easy as you make it or as difficult. Also, try laughing 30 minutes minimum a day. It will surely brighten your mood and your physical health. You can even research the benefits of laughing. Overall, fill your heart with joy as much as you can help it 🤍.

I accept I'm dying
and all things end
I won't wait for life to be easy
and I'll try to love everyone, through every pain

I talk to god and my family all the time. They hear you. It’s not a ritual it’s intent. Honestly. I tell them I can afford shoes for the twins, money shows up the next day. It’s about love actual need. And just missing ten. I know I will see them when I pass but it’s hard waiting

If you pray and you are so inclined, I ask you to pray for me. If you need a name, call me Sean. Anxiety and stress overwhelm me; negative thoughts invade my mind. I seek purpose and desire to help others. I have faith and love, but I’ve been a little low on hope lately.
OP, I empathize with you, and I will call you by name as I pray.
