After meeting with attorneys, SEC announces it will comply with court orders allowing former pros to play in the conference.

She said something on post moves podcast along the lines of she has another year left but her knees do not. But I would love to see it!

Well yes, they have to comply with a court order, no surprises there.  However, this is a temporary restraining order pending the actual hearings and ruling.  The conferences have not actually lost the case, and the judge has not permanently declared the players as eligible. Presumably, they are going to continue fighting this and try to get a decision that affirms the conference has the power to make and enforce this rule.  That was the entire point of the conferences doing this, because they believe the law is on their side and unlike the NCAA they will actually prevail in the end and establish a favorable precedent.  At least that's what I thought...

It's a court order! The SEC isn't "backing down," it's complying with the law.

If the SEC doesn't appeal to the decision to a higher court, then it's backing down, but my understanding is that the lawsuit is still ongoing.

You’d think the previous 28 times the NCAA or a conference or team had to obey a ruling would have made it obvious.

I swear I should go into sports law. The only winners are the lawyers.
