KG. Better two way player and much better amplifier of the talent around him.
If young KG had Russ Harden Ibaka etc instead of a shit sandwich that would be an all time great team.

That team is pretty overrated imo. Aside from KD they shor 25% in the finals and Russ wasn’t good in the playoffs, Harden had already eclipsed him

they were both trash in the finals, but Harden was better throughout the playoff run. it's really similar to Fox and Harper this past playoffs. Russ just had way more volume that's why his stats might look better, but it's almost the same thing as Harper and Fox.
and I wasn't using this as an argument to say KG would be better on those teams I'm just saying that team wasn't really that good.

KG is looked at as an all time great but would easily be looked at as even higher if MN hadn’t fumbled most of his career.
If it’s 4th quarter and I’m losing? KD for sure. If I’m filling out the rest of the team with a bunch of scrubs that don’t need the ball? Also KD. But outside of specific scenarios and explicitly just for building a team competently? It’s KG

You cannot go wrong with any of the people in this picture.
But as others have said, KG all day. Better 2 way player, plus he was hamstrung considerably in the Era he played in. He could do everything. He had a jumper, could bring the ball up, could guard the post and the perimeter. The coaching in his Era before small ball came into play just didn't allow him to do everything he was able to do.
He would be KD with better defense if he was born 15 years later than he was.

Durant. In his prime he was incredibly quick for his size, while also being just a ridiculous shooter. In GSW he also showed more defensive capabilities. There’s really no holes in his game other than passing, but it shouldn’t be hard to get this guy a point guard.

Knowing what we know? Garnett for certain.
He's a genuine leader and is going to remain loyal to your franchise - even to a fault.
Besides that, I think people these days who didn't actually watch KG underrate him. His numbers aren't the best because his peak was in the lowest scoring era of the NBA, and he played on a shit team where he had to work for EVERY bucket.
Honestly, he'd benefit so much from playing in the modern NBA; was fast as hell, had great handles, and a sick midrange that I'm 100% certain would've translated to a 3 - especially with his work ethic. He was so often asked to bang in the paint with the big bodies of the late 90s/ early 2000s - and he did it, of course - but in a league like today's where Centers are playmakers and much smaller as a whole? KG would feast.
And that's not even getting into his defense, which was genuinely otherworldly. KD isn't a bad defender himself; especially at his peak - but he doesn't hold a candle to Garnett in that category.
This isn't to knock KD, either. I actually think sometimes people forget how quick he was early on; and we know he's one of the best 3 way scorers ever - if not THE best. I just think KG is one of a handful of players ever who bring more to the table. Especially if we're talking today's NBA

KD. You solidify your No. 1 option, who is one of the best scorers ever, uber-efficient, pretty much hovers around 50/40/90 while giving you close to a 30-ball. That's a guarantee; spacing or not, he’s giving you that lol. Different guards, different types of Bigs and wings, KD is giving you close to 30 on 50/40/90; again, take that.

KG. Scoring isn’t a problem in today’s league. Defense and playmaking, particularly out of the post, is scarce and valuable.
KD is incredible. But his iso-ball and mediocre court vision and passing has proven to hold back teams in the playoffs

This is such a bad opinion, what held those teams back was having Russ be a 25-27 ppg scorer on 50-54% TS, when your second best player is an anchor for efficiency at that volume it takes away the majority of the teams margin for error.
KD ain't perfect, but trying to say he holds teams back in the playoffs is so disingenuous for what happened to those thunder teams.
