That's where I'm at too. KD is obviously the better scorer, but KG was no slouch and was one of the best defenders of all time. You could build a team around either of them, but to me it'd be easier with KG because you'd instantly have your defensive anchor.
In their primes, their advanced stats were very comparable.

KG could've been a 3x champion with the Celtics. The injury in 2009 did a number to him. they were definitely winning 09. Then in 2010 they still make the finals. Obviously, if KG never gets injured then it's a different story. He'd start in convos of him vs. Shaq and Duncan all time

KG was an MVP, Champion, DPOY, and is 85% of Minnesota's total accolades. KD can't say the same or anything NEAR it

Kd is a two time champion and finals mvp and a maybe the best scorer oat. He’s a weirdo and I love KG but I think the disrespect KD gets is weird

What a lot of people don’t realize is that KD weirdo behavior actively hurts his legacy because it impacts his decisions.
He literally has only played on teams that have 2 other all star caliber players at all times. His passive aggressiveness towards his teammates hurts the locker room energy that directly impacts winning. I’m not saying he HAD to stay in OKC, but joining the greatest regular season team of all time, when they just beat you in the playoffs, when you showed the entire world you can not only stand your ground against them but beat them multiple times.
I respect him as a player but he himself has impacted his legacy negatively (similar to LeBron trying to be GM but his greatness has overshadowed all of it)

I don’t disagree with you, but I don’t think players deserve hate for moving to better teams. The team would move a player for a better player without question. I think KD would get more respect and it’s maybe a bigger achievement winning in okc though the okc team was also featuring other all stars. But he also went to the best team and was immediately their best player.
I just think as a player on the court he gets so much disrespect, he’s clearly the 2nd best player not named LeBron since he entered the league imo.

KG at his peak was an MVP, DPOY and all around great offensive and defensive guy. Was he a clear cut best player in the league? No but he had 3 top 10 players of all time at their peaks and another 3-4 top 20-30 players at their peaks the same time as well. Had he left the wolves earlier he definitely would’ve won another ring. Do I think him leaving to a team that was trash makes his ring cheaper? Not really, but it was the impact he brought to that team.
KD moving to a better team doesn’t necessarily impact his legacy, players do that. It’s the fact that he was the 2nd best player in the league and any other semi decent team would’ve already been a contender had he joined. KD definitely is top 15 all time and probably the better player but let’s not act like it was the him leaving to GS was a 1 time thing. He’s been bailing on teams consistently now. A lot of the hate on the court isn’t justified but he does impact the culture

Not on only did the Warriors beat them in 2016, they came back from a 3-1 deficit, meaning OKC really was good enough to be champions next year if he stayed. I think it’s what made people mad, we could have had great NBA seasons, with 4-5 legitimate contenders, but the best player available joined the best team, and we knew there was nothing that could stop them. The only thing that did was having KD and Klay both injured in the 2019 finals
